With the repetitiveness the nba has reached? Lately, especially this year, I'm becoming less and less interested in the playoffs for the wrong reason's. Not because lack of talent or competitiveness, but instead from the weakness of other teams. As fun as okc, miami, sa ect are..I'm growing tired of watching the same teams really contend. This association has become a league of pretenders. We might as well cancel the regular season at how uneven it's become. Yes you might say I'm 3 or more years late posting this since Miami and Boston assembled their big 3's. However I didn't imagine it would make the playing field this weak. Only reason that's an issue is because of the false hope so many teams have given us this year. -Clippers looked like a threat with doc and crew. -Memphis with their core and defensive grit -Gsw with iggy and the splash brothers. Even Portland with the way they looked in the first round. The east is pathetic and does not need mentioning besides NJ and the Pacers. The more you grieve about it the more you realize how the more and more freedom you give teams to acquire stars the more unfair it is. Moving forward if the nba stays on this trend of top heavy teams, should the comish start dictating some moves to try and keep the league somewhat fair?
In before... "It's always been this way." "No one was complaining during the 70s/80s/90s when [so and so] had an easy path." "Don't like it, stop watching." "You wouldn't care/be saying this if LeBron was on the Rockets." "You wouldn't care/be saying this if the Rockets were one of those same repetitive teams." Blah blah blah
It's not about that. It's about the gap of talent and how much other teams are so far away from even contending. I don't know about some of you but I enjoy change. I am tired of these top teams even tho they are the "best" in the world.
I honestly don't understand your gripe. I like basketball, and the Heat just happen to the best at it.
If the same teams are always going to be at the top year after year, at least we can take comfort in the fact that it's not the Lakers and the Celtics.
Im tired of the East being so ****. The Heat dominance is a byproduct of them being able to steamroller the competition.
You must of hated the nba in 80's, 90's & 2000's then too Lakers, celtics, pistons, rockets, spurs & heat have pretty much dominated last 30 yrs Basketball is easiest sport to have a dynasty cuz it's only 5 players
I don't think you're going to find much agreement... The Western Conference was the most competitive it has ever been this year with ridiculously good teams. The first round of the playoffs had the most game 7's ever. The Leastern conference argument had merit at the first half of the season. But by the end of the season, the teams actually weren't THAT bad. Teams get better and they get worse. OKC was crap until 4 years ago. The Lakers and Celtics have fallen. Miami and SA are the only 2 that have been consistently good/great for the last 10 years. It's been a fun season to watch. No regrets getting league pass.
This playoff game is ****ing terrible. The Pacers probably don't even make the playoffs in the west. We desperately need a 1-16 system.
What is it becoming? Dynasties happen. It has always happened. Same people that complained during the Bulls/Lakers/Celtics dynasties and the Spurs mini-dynasty are the same ones complaining about this Heat one. The only change I want is for the conferences to get eliminated so we don't have the abomination that is the Eastern Conference.
Look at years past how you had the suns, mavs, denver, utah, all creep in to the wcf. Now it's almost like clear cut, especially for the last 3 or so years. I believe it's about time the nba tried to play a more fair approach.
What it's becoming? You mean what it's always been. 80's - two teams win 8 titles 90's - two teams win 8 titles 00's - two teams win 8 titles
If it were 1-16 you wouldn't have this sorry ass pacer squad as a #1 making it to conference finals undeservedly Other than that 3 of the final 4 squads were the three best teams all yr; exactly as you expect
