I am not sure you understand what "having a life" means.

We have several of these bots at our company.

I laughed when that kid got eliminated. Dumbass wouldn't stop screaming after every word.
I guess I applaud their work ethic... but damn social life is completely gone.

This is spot-on. These kids are driven and pushing their minds to the limit. Yet some people can't break the mold formed in middle school and will use the opportunity to point and yell "Four-eyes! Nerd!" every time.

It's strange how if you see a young athlete driven and doing the same with their body, no one will call him/her out as a dumb jock and socially inept. Yet the kids who challenge their minds go on to have more fulfilling careers that contribute to society, while the majority of hopeful athletes end up poor and uneducated. I guess because you can't joke about them being virgins? Talk about priorities inverted.

    Good ol' racist America.

I love how Americans have this impression of themselves as being free and welcoming to all different cultures and points of view, but then whenever there's someone with darker skin and a name that's not John Smith, suddenly they don't really count as Americans.

    People suck.

Yes, this exactly. People opining that spelling "isn't good for anything" or "isn't a real life skill" manage to ignore that being good at basketball or football doesn't usually get you anywhere, either. And yet, as you say, they are never called out for that in the same way the "nerds" are, simply because they're the "cool" kids. Because, y'know, striving to be "cool" is such a life skill. Mixed-up priorities, indeed.

Yeah, not impressed. One black president doesn't mean that a lot of Americans aren't racist. Or were you not actually looking at the spelling bee comments?

At least black people usually aren't thought to not count as Americans. But asians? Not so much.

Nothing shows class like making fun of hard working, intelligent middle school kids. I hope you two teach your kids about your priorities...I'm sure they'll be very successful.

Didn't you know? Making fun of these kids is okay, but calling racist comments racist isn't.

Gee, cute. Posting the exceptions one by one is really going to convince me that there aren't any racist idiots in America.
