Kind of weird they don't go until they have a winner.Only 25 words?

You're kidding right? 25 words is a lot in that final stage. Both deserved it, but I was hoping all three would be champions. I was definitely rooting for both at the end.

You can tell these kids studied/worked real hard for this moment. It wouldn't be fair to keep going just to name 1 champion.

Plus did you really want sriram's mom to die of a heart attack?

This is Miss America all over again.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ed-comments-after-indian-americans-win-again/

Where have these idiots been? An Indian has won the spelling bee 8 years in a row and 13 of the last 17.

None of these kids can spell "a life"

Seriously, Every single kid that I have watched in this competition is socially challenged.

Geek squad should be sent to their homes and parents should be charged for child abuse.

We need to send our kids to India and win their Hindi Spelling Bee competition (without getting raped).

I don't care about it all, but I opted to watch this over the Spurs game. It doesn't mean a damn thing, but it just shows hard work can pay off. These kids, regardless if they won the spelling bee or not, have the work ethic and dedication (thanks to their parents) to accomplish anything in life. They will be difference makers and lead successful lives. Why complain or make of fun of such a thing?

So what if they "have no life?" They are only in middle school. I'm curious to know how much **** you got in 7th grade.

I like to read the thread title as "... ends in rare staredown."

Most of these kids will do well in life. They will become doctors, engineers, investment bankers etc. You don't win these things without being smart and Driven.

Its something to be proud of. There are thousands of kids who compete and you made it to the top.

This kid was cool, if anyone remembers him. They are not all losers. Even still, they are obsessive about something that will actually give them benefit.
