Case Ole is still around. For some reason once a week I crave their queso Chalupa chips and order like 10.
All Star Sports batting cages off of 249 and N Houston Rosslyn They had a cage with Nolan Ryan pitching as the backscreen. It was pretty cool as it would look like he was throwing the pitch... good times.
Dan Patrick's Sport Bar in Rice Village. (yes, THAT Dan Patrick...) My future brother-in-law used to work there and he let us come in and drink beer and watch the Rockets/lakers playoff series in 86. We were in the 10th grade. Good times... Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that one of the first sports bars in Houston? Now there's one on every corner.
LOL... You've got me all wrong, I don't have the expertise as some oft the other members on here. I was just stating that the Pink Pussycat garnered a lot of attention, and it was smack in the middle of downtown (Main St.)! Like I said, the sign outside definitely stood out! ....... ....... .......
Liar. I will not believe it until I see your Nick Offerman looking ass here in H-Town. And La Hacienda is still open.
I throw darts at Rudyard's every once in a while, or see a band. It looked like they expanded last I was there (in the past year I think) I assue it's still there. How about The Velvet Elvis?
There are just so many places here that, because I live a couple blocks from Dairy Ashford, I know are still there. I ate at La Hacienda last week. Come on, man.
I'm sure some have been mentioned but: Axiom Proletariat Mary Janes Walters on Washington (I know it moved but it's not the same) Lucky Burger (it's happening) RAYS FRANKS
Velvet Elvis was a great bar. Speaking of darts, how about the Richmond Arms, Kenneally's, and Ron's Pub? Still around?
That's a new one. Depending on the hair and beard, I get more "not-as-fat Galifianakis" or "way-not-as-good-looking McConaughey"
Those are all still around. I'm sure they've changed a bit though. Except Ron's. I like how this thread really sticks to Houston. You don't see any Katy, Cypress, Woodlands jabronis having any fun in here. Suckers. -Katy guy with lifted truck and TAMU emblem- "umm, like, remember Circuit City, brah?"
Couldn't find a picture, but I used to love the old Weatherby Arms Museum next to the Dome. Shaped like a castle and full of old armor and torture devices. A google search pulled up a Clutchfans thread from 2008 when we had this same reminisce.
