Upstairs Rice Village, right? Cheeeeeeap pints. Many cheap pints were had on the patio there.

Not to derail, but, are these bars still around:

    TK Bitterman's
    Kay's
    Volcano
    Roll-In
    'Bama Ice House?

What about Rudyards? Warren's? La Carafe? Last Concert?

Just really wondering if they've changed or closed...planning a Houston trip someday soon.

Damn. They closed? That was owned by diehard Cubs fan, right. Had one if my best dates ever end up there after going to a Gwar show at the Axiom. Speaking of which, didn't the Axiom close

Bama ice house is still open. I like to take my dog there when in town for Friday HH.

My favorite coffee shop was Dietrich's. They had to close because the landord of that small center didn't like that they attracted so much parking

The Proletariat- great indie rock venue and dive bar. So many great shows there literally standing 10 feet away from the bands.

I remember this place, it was in front of Moody Park (far end). I went there a couple of times, but as I recall it, nothing really stood out other than it being a newer (plain looking) clean theater. Loved the fact that they showed two spanish movies back then.

I was going to mention the pink pussycat earlier in the thread, but I thought perhaps no one would know what I was talking about. This place stood out big time, I remember that it gave downtown that seedy look during the 70's! I never actually went inside the place, but I remember that they used to keep their front doors open, and you were able to see (partially) what was going on inside and hear the loud music!

(P.S.) That sign that they had was awesome, it definitely got your attention!

Man I haven't been to Last Concert in years. I need to go back. You should checkout Moon Tower if you like Last Concert. And hot dogs. And the stuff that goes on at Last Concert...

La Carafe got 10% douchier. Rudyards too possibly with that new place next door but I'm not sure.

Casa Ole. I haven't seen one in forever, but they might still exist around town. I remember singing their stupid jingle and watching the commercials with Jose Lima as a kid.
