WB doesn't help himself against the critics. Still, Westbrook is arguably becoming one of the best combo guards in history.

That title belongs to Dwyane Wade (career 29% from 3 and 28% this season).

All his criticism is based on the argument that Kevin Durant is on your team and the team needs to run through him. If it was anyone except KD on the Thunder, Westbrook would be loved and called the new Derrick Rose to the media. "The most explosive and devastating point guard in the NBA", instead of "Explosive guard who needs to get Kevin Durant the ball more" as he is called now.

I wonder if that will affect him when he reaches free agency? Unless he changes his game to be more of a playmaker, he will always be criticized for not getting Durant the ball. Westbrook will always be the scapegoat if the Thunder continue to fail at winning the championship. And that criticism can wear down a lot of people and make them want somewhere else to play.

OKC is a small market. I don't think they can cling onto Durant and Westbrook for their entire career or prime.

Wait you really think that Westbrook would be one of the worst shooting guards because he is 6'3?

Ever heard of Monta Ellis and he is better than Ellis.

Yup this was exactly my point. It annoys me when people blame Westbrook no matter what how bad KD plays in a game.

It really depends on Durant and Westbrook. They might decide that together they have the best shot of winning and stay together for years to come. If they are able to keep Ibaka with them, then I can totally see a possibility of them modeling the Spurs and keeping their guys for their whole career.

They have to start winning championships though. If they don't win one by the end of Durant's current contract, then it's almost a guarantee that he will leave.

I am waiting for the thread: "Would Harden's game be criticized less by Carl Herrera if he was a 6th man instead of a starter?"
