I love Springer as much as the next guy, but sample size. Springer is on a heck of a run, but Trout has been elite over 2+ years. I'll take a wait and see approach before saying he can be Trout 2.0
I'm with you. Lets give him a full season before anointing him as a player of the caliber of Trout. I have high hopes he may be, but lets just wait and see.
While this has been fun, it's been about 15 games where he's been playing well. Let's let him settle into the game, and let's allow opposing pitchers to see him more than once before we start anointing him. With that being said, I'm so happy that we as fans have something to finally cheer about!
Ok. Yasiel Puig... whatever... George Springer is the closest thing to this guy. Look up the stats. They don't lie.
Springer is playing like a stud. He has having one hell of a month for sure. With Springer in the line-up the Astros are 13 wins and 10 losses for the month of May including todays game. The Astros lost all 3 games that Springer missed this month. The dude is making one hell of a difference any way you look at it.
Already tied for 12th in the MLB in home runs. With 40-60 fewer ABs than most of the guys ahead of him.
Lol, Im not denying Springer is a stud....but even during his crazy hot streak over the last few weeks, he's still not at what Puig has been doing over the last year. Im hoping Springer can keep it up...and I do think he can...but there are other players that have been performing at a higher level for a much longer period of time.

I've been a huge fan of Springer since before the Astros drafted him and I've always been super high on him, but even I will admit there is no way he becomes as good of a player as Trout. He simply strikes out too much, and will never be the defensive player Trout is either. That said, he could easily be an all-star caliber player. We will have to wait to see if he keeps hitting well.
