I was fortunate and got 4 floor seats. My buddy in Austin actually got through to buy them, I kept trying and getting time expired or other random errors.
damn that suuuuuuucks. had to be in a meeting at noon and wasn't able to sit on the site. wish I had $400 to blow on a ticket. oh well, music sounds better anyways on my headpho-
Might have to drop some dough for Pitchfork. Not a big fan of most acts but... Beck AND Slowdive? I'm in.
Anyone going to Rebirth Brass Band tonight? My band was invited to open but after letting go our bassist and drummer, just couldn't make it happen. Terrible opportunity to miss. Anyway, always a great time. Hoping for some single, funky ladies in attendance on this Valentine's night.
Tonight: The Black Angles, Roky Erikson & The Hounds of Baskerville @ Fitzgerald's Papadosio, The Main Squeeze @ Last Concert Cafe Tomorrow: The Tontons album release party @ Warehouse Live Spoonfed Tribe @ LCC I'll definitely be at Fitz tonight.
New Monsoon is playing Last Concert Cafe Friday and Saturday night in memory of their former manager Gary Hartman. 'Garyfest' looks to be an annual event now. This year will feature special guests Tim Carbone (Railroad Earth) and Dan Lebowitz (A Live One). If you've never seen New Monsoon, well, you should. They have a three headed percussion section and they kick major ass.
checking out Brit Floyd (a top notch pink floyd cover band) on may 20th Queen with Adam Lambert - July 9th and of course every underground house/techno show in Texas between now and then

5/25- Morrissey @ Jefferson Theater, Beaumont, TX 6/2- Parquet Courts w/ Radioactivity @ Fitzgeralds, Houston, TX 6/12-15- Bonnnaroo 6/28- Diarrhea Planet w/ Lee Bains III and Glory Fires @ Fitzgeralds, Houston, TX 8/16- Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden w/ Death Grips @ Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion, Woodlands, TX kind of half hoping that FPSF tickets get really cheap on stubhub before the fest, might go in that case. I refuse to spend much though, because even though I like the line-up last year was really really weak. Way way too crowded and some of the lamest crowds ive been in. Too many kids that seemed like they were only there because it was the cool thing to be at (probably because of all the lame DJs they've been booking)
Ooh oui! Had THE best time seeing 2 shows. 1st in in San Diego and the next day way in the desert in Pioneertown where they used to shoot John Wayne movies! All shows had over 3 hours of music, 2 sets with a nice 30 minutes smoke break in the middle. Here is most of the 2nd set from the show at Pappy and Harriets, I am the guy in the cowboy hat 3 rows in front of the singer. In a word; fungal. Plan on driving to Lost Wages in July for 3 shows at the Brooklyn Bowl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Osn4XRXodjs
Wow! Hard not to love RR. Seen The PHiSH and Widespread Panic there. Next on my list of outdoor venues is The Gorge.
By the way, The Heartbreakers just announced their new tour/album with none other than Stevie ****ing Winwood opening. **** yeah. Sucks it's at Toyota Center but I guess it's better than shelling out for a ride to the Woodlands.
