    Yao was an immense talent.

People often say, well if he wasn't massive he wouldn't be in the nba.

Well you could say that about a whole lot of players who are in the nba, take away their physical gifts, being able to jump 40 inches, having a rediculous wingspan, having quick feet, soft touch, and they wouldnt be in the nba.

Yao was a finally turning into the dominant force everyone hoped he would be, but injury continued to strike him down. It doesn't make him any less of a player, he was an absolute pleasure to watch for the rockets despite his struggles with injury and you couldnt wish for a better person to be the leader of your franchise.

Some things just aren't meant to be. 7'6 300 pound players aren't meant to be able to survive the physical beating of playing basketball on a hardwood floor for their entire lifes.

Yao was an immense talent despite his obvious limitations, hes an even better human being, but some things just don't go your way. thats life

Yao would have been better off being 7-2.

If Yao stayed healthy those playoffs we'd have a third banner hanging in the rafters, ohhhh what could've been.

I wonder if summers off plus treating him like a Spur, by having him randomly sit out 15 games a season, would have extended yao's career.
It's all for not since yao was a loyal comrade trying to please both Peoples Republic of Houston Nation and China.

I'll take Yao's handles over lin's . Don't remember Yao Ming jacking up air balls.
    Yao was a fantastic shooter

If you browsed through his biography you probably find out that he did not start playing basketball regularly until he was 13 or 14. (Don't remember the exact age but it was late)

He was good as basketball as Jeremy Lin is good enough at basketball too.

If Yao had Jeremy's size I don't think he would make the NBA, maybe with his work ethic he might get an invite like his former teammate Liu Wei.

I am more of a Yao fan than Jeremy fan and I don't think you can compare a guard to the the tallest Center in Rocket history.

So that statement is plain not thought through.

Yao had game when he first played with the rockets, it took him a few games but he went right after shaq and played well.

He was always a good shooter and had good fundamentals.
He just developed more bulk and a post game as he played more games.

Yao would whoop Jeremy Lin in a shooting contest. He had a nice jumper, than that pray to god Jeremy Lin high arching shot

You could ask around in Asia, many believe Wang ZhiZhi is the best shooting 7 ft coming from China in ages.

So all is Lin's fault. Remember the Rockets cut him when he was at his best and hen gave him that contract and his production stagnated

Les wanted him back whereas Morey could have done without him, he wasn't eager signing Dragic.

Facing those situations, Les and Morey made mistakes, tried to cover up and still made mediocre decisions concerning Lin, the PG situation and the PF situation.
Those two positions will haunt us for years unless someone of Chris Paul or Bosh's caliber will be available.

Depending on the shooting contest. Anyone can get hot in practice.

Shooting in front of a crowd like in the Allstar Game better shooters have gotten jittery legs and failed.

If it's the Allstar 3 point shooting contest Lin has an advantage, slightly faster release.

Yao is too slow to finish all balls from the rack

i can watch this over and over and over. Clicked on one of the other videos at the end of it and they have shaq vs yao, their first match up. HOWEVAH, it was filmed from shaq's point of view because that's not how i remember that game. :p

sad that those clips get me more excited than the team we have today.
31 shots per game between Mobley and 'franchise'. pass the ball to yao!

Say what you want. But Yao Ming was a great center while healthy. He wasnt Shaq dominant. But he was a beast in his own. He didn't have the footwork as a rookie, but by his 3rd year NOBODY could stop Yao. That turn around shot was a thing of beauty. His offense evolved into something serious. My guess is he stayed healthy, he'd definitely be top 5 GOAT
