I had been keeping an eye on this project since the Kickstarter and I'm so glad that they were able to deliver such an amazing mini-series. It blows my mind how it pays tribute to the game but does not feel corny at all. Ahem street fighter and the legend of chun li. All 13 episodes are out. Check em out!

I ended up watching all of it. As good as the episodes were, they really could have been condensed down to 8-10 episodes. The whole thing just drags on so much.

Thought it was excellent. Focus on this small group of characters helped the character development. Just wish they weren't holding off on one of the fights till the next season

It's very well-made. Special effects leave a lot to be desired but I guess that's understandable with the budget. Not really digging the Ryu actor. He doesn't seem to have the acting chops and he's not really muscular enough. He's clearly in there just for his martial arts prowess. He looks like the guy from Mythbusters.

Thanks for posting, watched all episodes in a row this evening.

Great acting and refreshing to see real martial artists in a fighting film. Also liked the matureness of this, was afraid it might be one of those nerd-ish video game fan projects.

    Can't wait for season 2!

Was only ok. This was the best live-action series of Street Fighter imo:

The ring announcer in the sumo outfit or whatever he's wearing is not honda. He's the creator of street fighter.

All the subtle details they put in were nice to see. Best moment for me was when they introduced Ryu's theme

    Watched the whole thing.

The supporting actors were better than the main actors, particularly toward the beginning of the movie. I can understand how it's almost impossible to find actors who are good at action scenes, can act, look the part of these characters, and are willing to work at a low-budget movie salary though. The writing, directing, cinematography, sets, costumes, and fight choreography were great. I also love all the Easter eggs and references to all the Street Fighter games and characters, especially how all the moves (including ticks and reversals) they made were straight from the games' character movesets. This movie is probably the kind of movie that gets better each time you watch it too. Overall, a very good movie considering the small budget, and the best video game movie I've ever seen.

I hope the next movie they make will have the sensei fighting Akuma, Akuma wins, and then Ken fighting Akuma and losing. Meanwhile, Ryu, at some point, finds out that he is Akuma and Sayaka's son, and that Sayaka died during childbirth, while he is entering the first World Warrior tournament to test his powers. Ryu wins the tournament, defeating Sagat in the final round and giving Sagat that scar on his chest with a Dark Hado Shoryuken. Then, in the third and final movie of the series, Ken finds Ryu and tells him about their sensei being killed by Akuma. Ken and Ryu then both enter the second World Warrior tournament, which this time also includes the man who set the tournaments up, the dictator of Shadaloo, M. Bison. Just as Ryu is about to beat Bison, Akuma comes out of nowhere and kills Bison. Ryu and Ken then beat Akuma together to end the series. It would be awesome if that happened with a big budget, and maybe if they reshot some of the weaker scenes and then released all 3 movies in the theaters on the big screen one after another.
