Astros baseball is officially fun to watch again. And it's only gonna get better from here.

ok man, i'm just saying Carter would be a better choice at DH than pressley right now. not sure what that has to do with Ensberg

i'm sure i'm wrong and shouldn't have commented, or something like that

As hot as Springer has been, Altuve has been on the best extended run of his career. As Springer's swing/contact rate seems to gets better when guys are on base (as he tries to shorten his swing and not swing for the fences)... Altuve has to get a chunk of credit for seemingly being on base for nearly every single one of Springer's AB's over the last week.

And I'm saying that Presley has a better chance to still be on the team once Singleton/Santana come up (simply because of his ability to play the OF), thus they're likely trying to give him more AB's to figure that out.

I agree that Carter has more power... but he's ultimately a bad hitter (and all he can really do is "hit").

his defense has been great too. springer is on record saying that altuve has been opening it up for him. he sees more strikes because altuve always seemingly gets on.

Cool, I sure hope you are wrong though. I've seen enough of Presley personally. But that's just me

I've seen enough of him too. I wouldn't lose sleep if they got rid of both of them.

I hope they give Grossman an extended look if they aren't gonna promote Santana. His BABIP is currently sitting at .133, he's gotta start hitting into some good luck. He is still walking at a good rate.

    No more of Presley starting.

Yea I agree with this. I don't see Grossman as an everyday guy on a winning club, but I do think he could be a good 4th OF type, so might as well give him another good chance right now while we wait for the super two to pass

There is enough depth in AA and AAA to take their place, there will be some success from the crop of outfielders and some failures. We as fans have to be patient, which is painful when you are watching Presley and Carter types. Santana, Wastes, Chambers, Aplin and Tucker are in the wings waiting their turn. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I feel like this team is two true impact bats away from being okay.

Hopefully Correa turns into one of those. The other? Do we have one in the system?

Certainly is hope for Singleton to be one. Santana also looks good, especially as a 21 year old at AAA.

At some point, all of this "building" is gonna have to be supplemented by a free agent or two, if we really want to be legit . . .at some point

Wow, this guy looks like a monster

At some point he is gonna start stealing bases too, hard to do that when everything you hit is a hr or 2b though

Or since its unlikely that every single stud prospect makes it in the big leagues, you'll see them start to package some of the young guys for FA's to be or guys about to hit big arbitration raises that rebuilding teams don't want to pay.

I'd actually expect them to do the above first, rather than just sign a FA out-right... and they'd be better off as they'd usually be getting a younger player with more prime years, and likely "cheaper" years.

But, the team has to be winning first before they start to go that route (or decide to spend any real money to go after a FA).
