Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess). 5-26 Scott Feldman, RHP vs. Yordano Ventura, RHP 7:10 5-27 Collin McHugh, RHP vs. Jeremy Guthrie, RHP 7:10 5-28 Jarred Cosart, RHP vs. Danny Duffy, LHP 1:10 If you are gonna start the thread, at least use the correct format for the first post -- Castor Maybe Castor will start a new thread, or sticky this one, but wanted to get one up to say two things 1) Sure is great to have been competitive for a few weeks. 9-8 in Springers last 17 games in the lineup, makes it fun 2) Alex Pressley is the DH tonight?? He is hitting .218, his OPS is .569....can someone, anyone, give me a good legitimate reason we are running this guy out there as our DH?
Carter's left/right splits are virtually identical. Not sure why he would be benched against a right hander. Granted he isn't hitting well, but he is still a better offensive option than Presley.
My buddy who is a Pirates fan cannot figure out why we have Presley except that he's a left handed hitter. Bring up Singleton and Santana already, geez...
It changes every year (and isn't really known till the end of the season) as its based on the aggregate service time and production of all players who were called up within the last year +.... that being said, its usually always within the first half of June, thus teams always wait till the end of June or early July (to really play it safe). I'd say some time right before the ASB would be the best bet to see call-ups on this team.
Is he? They both have no business being in an everyday lineup. Presley did have a decent series against the Mariners, so perhaps this is the reward. DH by committee!
i know its for memorial day but good god, those unis are ugly as piss. those caps belong in a hunting lodge and kept there until it burns down.
As terrible as Carter has been this year, he is a guy who hit 29 HR last year. Not saying he is one of our building blocks, but he is a heck of a lot better option than Pressley. At least with Carter, he has the possibility of hitting one out
Sure... and Morgan Ensberg once finished 3rd in MVP balloting. As soon as Singleton and Santana come up for good, there should not be a spot in this lineup for Carter. Club is simply in total evaluation mode at this point trying to figure out if Presley is salvageable at all (and with his recent OK series, he's getting the nod). Neither one is long for the regular lineup, but at least Presley can play the OF as a defensive or injury replacement (of course not in this game). BTW, Springer clocked that one... loved seeing the CF just look up and put his head down.
Springer! Love it man. I'm really liking this kid. Crazy as it sounds, I'm excited to go to an Astros game this weekend.
