The Rockets with heavy input from Morey traded their #8 pick for Shane Battier.

If we look at recent years, most 7th picks turned out to be a lesser player than Parsons, or more or less on par with him: Ben Mclemore, Harrison Barnes, Bismack Biyombo, Greg Monroe, Stephen Curry, Eric Gordon, Corey Brewer, Randy Foye, Charlie Villanueva. Mclemore and Barnes may still improve, but as it is now I think only Curry is significantly better than Parsons.

So on average you would get a Parsons caliber (or a bit less) kind of player, but of course you can get a bust (Biyombo?) or, less likely, a great all-star (Curry).

But perhaps with the depth of this year's draft, gambling on the 7th pick is a good option.

Came a long way? Really? How far ahead are we exactly? Last time i checked we had 2 first round exits in 2 years. We went from barely missing the playoffs to getting bumped out the 1st round. Oh i forgot, but we're excitng:rolleyes:

Damn right it's better than yours,

I am now okay with McHale staying and I will give him one more chance, but he must prove us that he can take Rockets to NBA Finals next season. If we still loses in first round next season, he should get fired.

People complain about the defense on the Lillard 3 and blame it on McHale.

Morey is to blame. Morey gave away guys who knew how to defend the inbound in clutch positions.

Look at the awareness by the guy covering the player throwing the all in here. Look at the guy who stayed with the would-be receiver of the pass and got the critical steal.

In their place, we have the guy who inexplicably called for Beverley and Parsons to switch and the player face-guarding the inbound passer and shading toward Aldridge while not cutting the angle on Lillard.

So you were gonna pay patterson's 3 million salary? Please that inbounds play was all coaching. Patrick ****ing patterson wouldn't have changed that.

And "that guy" is the reason we aren't sucking a dick and picking 14 place in this year's draft. Without "that guy" we have no Dwight and no future. Please just stop posting.

Harden may have attracted Dwight while Lowry may not have.

But that was a year ago. This season, right now, it is not clear that Lowry isn't the better player. Not as productive offensively, but so significantly better on defense that it may well outweigh the offensive difference.

McHale is to blame for that play.

Ppatt starting in the playoffs on this team this year would've beat Portland, it's bit about a player it's about the TEAM and how different it would've function and more plays available, lol at the $3mill statement for a serviceable big that can hit the 3, set solid screens, hit the midrange.

You are completely ignoring Casey's coaching. He's no star, but defensively he's pretty good on that end.

I guess if you just repeat the same bullsh!t over and over you can convince yourself of this nonsense, but it doesn't make you sound any less foolish. I thought your Patrick "I Can't Get a Rebound to Save My Life" Patterson campaign was silly, but your little Harden Jihad is laughable. Now Kyle f-ing Lowry is on Harden's level, or better? Damn, that's stupid.

Exaclty casey is a very good defensive coach despite his struggles in other areas thats why he was brought in. Hating harden's defense is one thing, defending mchale and blaming defensive lapses ON THE GM is r****ded

The team with Pat last yr was great on the defensive boards. This yr they suck on d boards.

Pat and Lowry have been smart players for years. They didn't need Casey to teach them situational awareness.

Morley didn't find them help like Toronto has. Weaker conference but also better supporting cast for Kyle and Pat.
