I think there is a good chance Melo or Love go to Houston or Chicago and which ever signs or gets traded first decides which city they will go to. If they really want to win, that is what they should do and if I was them I would choose Houston over broken down Rose.

I think people forget how good Melo is because New York is diabetic. He took the Nuggets to the Western Conference finals with old Iverson and knocked out the same Dallas team that went to the finals against Miami with Dirk in his prime. Melo is 29 and is currently in his prime.

Love would do well in Houston. Rondo is the only tough one of the bunch and this team sure could use more toughness.

Just get one, you can't go wrong....uh Deron Williams.

I'd wait on Durant too but out of the choices for NOW....I'd go with the ALPHABET!!! Trade 2014#1, a future #1 and Asik for the Alphabet and L. Sanders

LOL at waiting for Durant. The Rockets are not going to sit on cap/roster flexibility and waste 2 years of Howard's prime on the HOPE they can get Durant.

Bird in the hand. The sooner, the better.

If the choice were just between Melo or Love I'd choose Love all day as a fit with harden and Howard, but the real choice isn't that simple. If you go after Melo you're trading away Lin and Asik and you're getting back a late 1st rounder or decent role player for Asik (probably nothing for Lin). If you go after love you're trading away Lin, Asik, Parsons, Jones and draft picks for Love and probably a bad contract or two. To me the choice becomes much easier in that context. Parsons will make a great sixth man.

Let's get real though. We'll do almost anything to get either one.

I quite agree that what we have to give up to get said player needs to factor in.

Not only that, but how replaceable and vital are those pieces we give up.

If Durant doesn't at least get to the finals I don't know how he couldn't at least consider a move to HTown...

If Love isn't traded to Boston, I'd fully expect Morey and Ainge to begin trade talks for Rondo. After listening to Moreys interview, it sounds like he does want that 3rd star and Ainge could be willing to part with Rondo considering it's the final year of his contract and he probably wouldn't re-sign. With Dwight not wanting to lose touches and have the post offense ran through him, a trade for a point guard or an upgrade at small forward sound the most likely. If Love goes to Boston, they'll re-sign Rondo as well. Wherever Love falls will be the domino in whatever moves we make..
