    3 separate parts:

    1. Omer Asik (and more if necessary maybe D-mo or a 2nd) for Paul Millsap

    2. Jeremy Lin to Philadelphia for Tony Wroten (basically a salary dump, but also Wroten could be a bench spark)

    3. Go After Kyle Lowry

I agree. I don't think that there is a potential combination of NBA players that has not been suggested here.

we need to focus on non guaranteed contracts we can acquire to either trade or cut for cap space. the three i have my eye on are bogans in Boston at 5.3mill, salmons in Toronto at 7mill, and jameer in Orlando at 8mill. also available to a lesser extent(least likely imo) sammy d in Dallas at 3.9mill and varejao in Cleveland at 9mill. all of these contracts can be traded for and subsequently cut to open up cap space.

if we were just trying to open up pure cap space to chase melo this is the best route to go imo. But i think the bigger fish is love and i also think it's our first option. Minnesota will want picks, assets and flexibility if they are to trade love. i maintain that i think we have the best ability to put together the most attractive offer.

    here is my proposal.

asik/#25 to Atlanta for #15/muscala(.8mill non guaranteed)
Lin/2nd to Orlando for jameer/ronnie price(1.3mill non guaranteed)

turn around and package jameer/muscala/price(10.1mill nonguaranteed salary) along with Parsons/Jones/Atlanta's#15/2 future 1sts and 2 future 2nds in a trade for love.

Minnesota gets two young players with upside and one being a borderline all-star. they can turn around and shed 10mill from the cap because of nonguaranteed contracts. mid pick this year and 2 future first rd picks and 2 future seconds

Minnesota may want to dump a contract so you can enter anyone of barea/schved/turiaf in the proposal if need be.

Not a random trade idea but...

Say we somehow get Love (or not) but his heart is set on being a Laker and he doesn't extend with us.

Say Lebron opts in to the heat for the 2014-2015 season and becomes a free agent in 2015.

Given the Rockets have cap space in the 2015 offseason.

There is an argument to be made that Wade's knees aren't getting better and he's not getting any younger. The Rockets have the younger, better SG and a game-changing big.

    I'm just saying...

    HOU-ATL:
Trade Asik for John Jenkins and a 2017 First Round Pick
(This is a cap clearing move only + Jenkins can shoot lights out)

    HOU-TOR:
JLin + Dmo + Josh Powell + ATL 2017 First Round Pick for Kyle Lowry(S&T at 4 years - 35 million. I also believe this would have to be 2 separate deals. Lin for Lowry straight up, then the others for a highly protected 2nd rounder or something like that.)

Should leave around 8-9 million in cap room. Sign Pau Gasol at 4 years starting at whatever is left.

    Lowry/Beverley/Canaan
    Harden/Daniels/Jenkins
    Parson/Rookie/Covington
    Gasol/TJones
    Howard/Vet Signing

Everyone else is throwing out pipe dreams, so i figured I'd throw mine out as well.

Asik, Beverley, TJones, DMo, Casspi (decline option), and Covington

    for

    Rondo and Bass

Something just feels right about this trade.

Houston gets a pass first PG and penetrator, which allows Harden to play more off ball (open shots) and Howard still gets his touches inside. Rondo is also an elite defender, and should be able to cover either PGs or SGs (which gives us more flexibility with covering Harden's flaws).

Bass gives us a versitile defender at the 4 and someone that can hit the open J (if not 3). Howard played with him for a few years in Orlando, so at least theres some familiarity there.

Both Rondo and Bass expire in 2015, so if it doesn't work out we have a ton of cap room to reload with.

Boston gets cap relief ($6 million), an elite defensive center (Asik), an elite defensive PG (Beverley), a high upside prospect that has already proven to have a solid floor (TJones), and a good strech center prospect (DMo). We could also throw in some of the NYK 2nd round picks.

Green and Lin could be added in fairly easily as well. Green because Houston wants another weapon at wing, and Lin because Boston would be able to clear Green's salary a year early.

If this works out, then you've got....

    Rondo / Canaan
    Harden / Daniels
    Parsons / Green
    Bass
    Dwight

Still have the BAE and MLE to fill in the holes.

If Parsons gets a crazy offer next year, then you have Green.

    Knicks
    in: Jones, Parson, Lin
    out: Anthony

    Wolves
    in: Harden, Millsap, Hamilton
    out: Love, Martin

    Hawks
    in: Asik
    out: Millsap

    Rockets
    in: Anthony, Love, Martin
out: Harden, Parsons, Hamilton, Asik, Jones, Lin

    Money seems to work:
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qckbamt
•Knicks are going to lose him anyway, they get a cheap nice SF, Lin back who thrived there, and a young cheap talented PF.

•Minnesota gets a marquee player who is signed to a 4 year deal with no player option and a very solid PF coming off his best season and a cheap 2 guard.

•Atlanta gets a real 5 and defensive anchor which allows their star player to play his natural position at PF

•Houston gets loaded with the top PF in the league, the best scorer in the league and 2 guard to replace Harden.

Of course some picks could be moved around to level any parts of the trade that seem unfair.

The thing that could make this work is that the players hold most of the cards since they can tell their current teams or the trade partners that they will not re-up with certain teams, similar to how Anthony, Bosh, LBJ and Deron Williams forced trades to their current teams.

PPL need to understand that Harden is not going anywhere. HE is only 24 yrs old.

Asik and pick for Milsap, Maybe Dmo,
Sign Jermaine O neal, He is a 18 year experience center, plays hard and played REALLY good last year for how old he is, we can get him for mad cheap as well. He plays hard and is a great backup. Tjones moves to backup PF which makes our bench even stronger. Or use Tjones in a scenario with a lin and pick S&T for lowry. We have beverly our backup PG and we have our Backup C. MLE to sign A defensive backup SF/SG (daniels can come off and play SG but still want someone who can be a versatile wing that will defend and hit the occasional 3) and Oneal/ Maybe jones or donatas off the bench. Championship contender right there.

I'm sure it's been discussed plenty before, but if we strike out with all of the high-end players that we would obviously love to sign, I would love to sign Pau Gasol to a short-term contract for the right price.

So you think Love and Martin are worth getting rid of Harden for? No way. Martin is a good bench player and sometimes Love just ain't enough. Bada Bing!

We might as well let them wear red capes because they'll all be playing matador defense.

To further elaborate on my thinking, we send #25 to Charlotte with Lin/TJ for their #24 & 45. With #24 we go after Payton and then in the second go with Patric Young (Asik replacement) at #42 and Deonte Burton at #45. Our roster than looks like this going into '14-'15:

    Beverly/Canaan/Burton
    Harden/Henderson/Daniels
    Parsons/Covington
    Milsap/Young
    Howard/Young

I think Henderson (or Harden) could play some backup 3 if needed and Parsons some backup 4 in a small ball lineup. I do worry about injury to the bigs as there isnt a lot of depth though. Assuming health, I think that lineup is cohesive, improves the D and provides for fewer minutes to Harden and Parsons. We would be relying on improvement from Covington and Canaan and a couple of rooks to play some minutes though...

    Sorry, got ahead of myself:

Beverly/Canaan/Payton (with pick #24 and likely spending time in Rio Grande)
    Harden/Henderson/Daniels
Parsons/Covington/Deandre Daniels (#45 - Rio Grande duty also)
    Milsap/Young (#42)
    Dwight/Young (#42)
