Performing too many crossovers earlier in his career led to this :(

    Sounds pretty minor:

"“Deron will undergo surgery on both ankles next Tuesday,” said Dr. O’Malley. “He will have a bone chip removed from his right ankle, and the left ankle will have an arthroscopic cleanout with removal of spurs from both the front and back of the ankle. Deron is expected to make a full recovery.”

But pretty risky at that price - gonna have to redact my taking a shot on him.

I'd much rather have Lin and Asik's expiring deals than D-Will's albatross contract.

Are bone spurs that serious of a problem? It's obvious he was playing with pain, but I remember Battier having similar surgery one of the seasons he was here and he seemed much better the next season. It's better to wait and see of course but I'm not willing to write the guy off completely.

Deron Williams isn't a team cancer and a curse.

Pain + interference with range of motion, so they can be a significant problem, but I'm not sure i'd say it's a serious problem, like an ACL tear.

All risk no reward. Dude has no interest in playing basketball and is just there for a paycheck IMO.

although that's a good point, it wasn't really brought up in arguments. I think some people just assume 2 is always worse than 1 (ankles vs knee).

When the Nyets were eliminated D-Will said he was going to have his ankles done. This isn't new news.

And this does not end speculation of a D-Will to Rox discussion.

The good news is that the Brookers are unlikely to create a bidding war.

I didn't participate in those arguments, nor have I really wanted Bynum here last season, but I'm sure most people felt this understood. If you ask in the DWill thread whether fans would take DWill on a minimum contract should the Nets hypothetically cut him, a lot more would say yes.
