ClutchFans have been talking to trade every player on the rockets except Garcia, who is likely going to opt out. Well, someone should include Garcia in a trade, so everyone in the team will be removed in the trades by those smart ClutchFans.
I agree, there are many other teams that can offer Minny a better package than ours but i still think we still have a decent shot at acquiring Love when all is said and done. Why? Kevin McHale. And a chance to seriously contend right away with Dwight and Harden. Question is, will Minnesota's FO give in if Love requested to be traded to HOU? Exactly the reason why i think it'll be Melo who joins us this off-season and we will also be able to keep Parsons.
If we actually traded Harden then he would probably learn defense and destroy us every time we played him.
People suggesting this need to also factor in the offensive system. That's a big part of it & kind of what I was getting at. If you are suggesting the team run a 4 out/1 In system than that's one thing, but keep in mind that Howard isn't Hakeem, and Love is an Isolation heavy PF... he's not just a spot up 3 point shooter ALA Ryan Anderson in Orlando. I dont see McHale as the type of coach with the savy to pull of the triangle offense so I just dont know how those two guys are going to mesh within your offense without taking turns isolating on the low block. If Adelman was about 10 years younger, maybe you could run the corner offense, but he's retired now, and we see how well the Lakers did for the first few games of the season last year when Mike Brown tried to run it in LA. With Harden as your Lead Guard in this offense, you sort of know what you are going to get, and you know for a fact that him and Dwight actually meshed very well. I'm open to discussing, but if people are bringing this up, rather than JUST speak to the talent(or point to Harden's deficiencies), I'd like to also include style of play, fit, and realize fully what you are losing with Harden. You have to account for what the Rockets are missing when they take Harden out of their rotation. He embodies their style of play, and is the engine that drives it.
No, we know Harden isn't going anywhere. And I don't really advocate it, IF HE GROWS UP. So much talent and yet no one pulled him out of Treasures until Game 6 of the playoffs---and too late. A shame we don't have a real leader on the team. Dwight might have elected to be that guy but he's already dancing around peoples' misperceptions of him. James? Is it apathy or 40 mpg fast-paced-offense exhaustion? As far as Kevin Love, it would be a real coup to add him as the third star. It's a long shot at best, in which case I hope Love warms up to the idea of Boston.
McHale? If he can get Love for us, I will give him a contract extension (three years?). I really do not think so.
lol. Valid. I feel like the rockets wouldn't be as lucky. Kind of like Anderson dropping 1,000 points on us but only averaged 10 pts for the season. But he doesn't do that against the Spurs...
No, he was a bench player with OKC, and proved to be a legit all star 2nd all nba type of player with the Rockets. He's young, and yes he lacks defensive intensity , but he's our player. He's not getting traded, and I'm sure he will improve his defense this off season.
There is no hard plan in place. There is a GREAT player requesting to leave his current situation (K Love). Therefore the Rockets management team HAS to look into it and see if they can get him here. The Rockets arent thinking, LOVE or BUST. Plus - Dwight complains about touches always - he wants an offense through him. You don't think there is more concern now with a scoring PF?
