alright if the heat manage to 3-peat, we can say the Heat went through an amazing team to win the finals and not "beat up some old, washed up players in the twilight of their careers"?

Before finals: East has no chance. whoever comes out is sacrificial lamb

2012 Beat OKC - too young
2013 Beat Spurs - too old, luck, etc. (danny green setting finals record for 3s made and Heat set record for fewest fts in 7-game series)
    2014 Spurs so good - ??

    let's be fair and consistent

Shutting down one team doesn't bolster your DPOY case, or any case. With Ibaka, OKC matches up great with the Spurs.

To win a big award like DPOY (esp. a first timer), you gotta make noise throughout the regular season.

So best case for Ibaka would be having OKC as a top 3 defensive team next year.

Lack of physicality from OKC is surprising. Spurs just maneuver around their defenders without any resistance.

spurs are gonna get to the finals without playing 1 good defensive team.

It was 54-48 Spurs, I just looked up and it's 67-48.

Spurs know how to execute and step on throats.

Even if we beat Portland, this statement would be true.

Outside of Memphis, the West doesn't play defense. Dallas was the only one, and it took SA 7 games before it got into its offensive rhythm.

Scott Brooks could literally sub himself in for Sefolosha right now and it might be an upgrade.

Man Durant and WB absolutely sucked tonight. No impact on either ends = 26 point blowout.

Spurs were going to win w/o Ibaka, but this easy? Pretty sad.

OKC just does not have enough firepower to mirror their 2012 beating of the Spurs. Sorry, TNT announcers.

Thunder have to change something about this team. They're amazing without question but so inconsistent and watching this series has made me think they can't get past the Spurs as currently constructed. Need a better center - wonder who they could get if they traded Westbrook.
