I highly doubt it. Love and Rondo would be a great duo! Really all they'd be missing is a quality big. My guess is they'd go after Asik. Question is what would they give us? Bass? Green? Unless they got rid of Wallace (for cap space to bring in Omer) and gave us a pick or two in return, I doubt that would happen.
I wish he would post something, anything! This thread is starting to lose it's momentum! (P.S) I'm serious, I wish he would post something, it's a slow hump-day.. ....... ....... .......
Loves girlfriend is from AND lives in LA. She is a small actress. Rockets WILL try to go hard after him. Luol Deng is a more realistic expectation as far as additions go.
is there interest in Deng or is that just postulation? personally, I'd be very happy with that addition if they also snagged another defensive pg
Interesting. I can't see the 7th pick being enough to net Love with so many other teams after him. Even if he is unwilling to commit long term right off the bat Celtics can offer the 6th pick and other valuable pieces. It's nice to know that the Rockets are going after him but I'm not sure Parsons, Asik, Jones and Lin competes with the Celtics potential packages and the Warriors potential packages.
I would be happy to have Deng and Parsons. Good combo. Then maybe Lowry at the PG. Dengs name thrown into the mix gives the fans who dont think we need a third star, a talking point. I for one think they need more quantity of proven players than a third star
Lowry + Deng would be nice. Keep parsons, have him gain some muscle/weight, maybe he can try do develop a post game as well this next season, that would be huge for us if he could. Lowry/Beverley/Canaan Harden/Daniels Deng/Covington Parsons/ Howard/ Great starting line up, the backup-backcourt rotation is also pretty solid. Would have to sign some vets for the min for frontcourt depth.
Deng and Parsons together for 1 year(before they decided what to do with Parsons) wouldn't be bad to me. Deng is the kind of player this team needs.
1) Love 2) Carmelo 3) Luol Deng I am guessing that order. With Deng, the Rockets just need to move either Asik OR Lin to make adequate free angent cap space I would imagine.
Not familiar with the complete FA list for bigs, but i bet Morey could feel out the backup 4/5 positions with some solid players
You guys want Scola and Battier back as well? Like give me a break with this LOVE fest. See what I did there....
That's an intentional downplay of expectations. Deng is a 32.9% career 3-point shooter, significantly worse than Parsons and not much better than Terrence _ones. Don't get me wrong. He's a nice player and I like him. But adding him with our potential cap space???? Or by flipping Asik and Lin?? And sealing ourselves out of 2015 free agency???? No way. Right now.....there is an exorbitant amount of misinformation being spread about...including the rumors that the Rox are willing to give up Parsons with Asik to get Love. Just more misinformation. I have no doubt it is coming straight from the organizations themselves to keep most everybody from trying to figure out what's really going on and to keep guys like cyberx and others thrown off the trail. Understand I do believe cyberx has insider info. But I can also tell when the insider info is intentionally bogus. There is no way we are targeting Deng right now. Not with Love out there and potentially Lebron and Bosh being out there. Not with the disaster that has become Memphis in the last few days and possibly even Marc Gasol being out there. Now with Dirk Nowitzki out there. Really....what cyberx is telling us is that there is nothing really going on right now. Read between the lines. Deng's free agency won't get resolved until well into July after Lebron/Melo/Bosh/Wade/Love and potentially Dirk and Marc Gasol's situations get resolved. And I've failed to even mention the potential mess that could be the LA Clippers. We're simply a long way off from Deng. Just gonna have to wait and see what happens. This thing right now is a HUGE CHESS MATCH!! In my 35+ years following this league I've never seen things this tight. Never. The GMs have gotten a lot better across the board. There are far fewer squirrels out there. And the new CBA is strapping down teams with the punitive luxury tax. Everybody has a better handle on value. It's just very difficult right now to do anything and there's going to have to be an unclogging of the drain so to speak before we see much of anything besides 99% BS speculation coming down the pike.
Dear Lord, this dude hasn't a clue. He speaks so matter-of-factly that we'll offer up Harden (on a long deal) + MORE for Love? If this were the case, Love would be a Rocket already. He clearly has no idea of the Rocket's aspirations this summer. Terrible journalism.
