Problem there is that they no longer have the assets to acquire Asik if they ship off their picks. No way we trade Asik to Boston for anything less than a first rounder (assuming that Rondo is staying with Love coming), unless we are 100% sure that Melo is leaving NYK and going to play for us and then it would take future 1st rounderS.

They have plenty of future 1st & 2nd rounders theirs and other teams, TPE, & bogans expiring (team option 14-15) for salary match purposes, they would also take Lin if came down to it, they're desperate for asik. I mean DESPERATE I understand your view I wouldn't give asik away either for not mucb, but if melo wants to come morey will jump on the chance to move asik/Lin by any means especially to a team in the EAST

Edit: I know of the future Brooklyn picks and such but there is 0% chance that Lin or Asik get moved unless Morey is 100% that he is going to be able to obtain pieces to help us now. Whether these future picks can help free up cap space to sign a Lowry or a Melo. Maybe these picks can be sent to another team for another player that may be disgruntled that we are unaware of but unless Morey has something else set up immediately, I can't see him trading for picks that aren't in this draft class. Other teams will be asking for pieces that help them now, whether it is on the court or new youth. Not everyone is patient like Morey. I know he plays chess but for the Rockets, this is about winning now not in 2016.

Hmm interesting... Rondo, Love, Bradley, Green and Asik is a solid core and in the East should be a strong playoff team. I think they'd take Lin as well if it meant Asik. Come to think of it Lin going back to his college home town might be a good fit. Not to shabby for Boston and if we get Melo afterwards then everyone is happy.
