I would literally take young Jordan over every player in the history of time. And if you think Harden is even close to being held to that high a standard, you're a...........
How are 2 guys who are the primary ball handler, primary scorer, primary facilitator so different? Of course any player is comparable to others. Otherwise there would be no greatest player ever or Top 10 lists. Every rating would have to be position specific. You're just dodging the question. Comparing a PG to a SG is nothing ridiculous. Stop deflecting. The post you quoted stated "after the playoffs". Harden was a chump on both ends of the court. No one in the media has called him top 5 since that garbage he displayed against POR.
Nobody has said that about your boy Paul George since November. Maybe peopel will start saying it this week though, so there is hope for you yet.
Whatever they say, Rockets likely are still playing with Dragic. Even if he duplicated Harden's crap offensive production.
How so??? I'm curious how an inferior player could play as bad as harden yet the rockets would still be playing right now which would be the WCF. Your a joke houstunna go to a pacers forum. Just 2 months ago you we're saying harden was clearly the better player than ur idol PG now harden is not that good and you never liked him. You guys can hate all you want about the guy but it's easier to teach a player effort and defense than teaching him the things harden does on the court. He has a unique feel for the game that most players don't have. We're very fortunate to have him and I'm glad none of you are the hm of the team cause we would be absolute trash. With a headlines team of dragic and Patterson. Smh.
The "inferior" player's defense is leaps and bounds better than the "superior" player's. We lost games by <5 pts... educated guess would say if suck defense was replaced by very good defense we'd win. Even with the crap offense. Dragic isn't inferior anyways. New information can't change an opinion? Don't be a fool. I never really liked Harden. The only change there is I like him even less now after that bull**** he pulled in the postseason. Thought he'd step up his effort, but to no avail. Still gotta cheer for him because he's a Rocket, but he blows. *You're (you are) a joke... not calling you one, just correcting your error.
If they Rockets still had Dragic and had never bothered with the Harden trade - they'd be playing tonight. Playing this: Spoiler
There's only greatest player ever lists because people want to make them, it's like asking, why do so many religious texts cite that their God is the one, has nothing to do with the validity of the claims at all.
Perhaps '13 Dragic wouldn't have attracted Dwight, but if he did we'd still be playing. At worse we'd still be in the midst of a long 2nd round series vs the Spurs. We lost by 1 and 2 points with Haren playing his crap 40 minutes of matador. Surely a much superior defender would've made a difference. Don't ya think? Sam, you have major rep around here. You must be smart. You know damn well MUCH better perimeter defense would've made a difference in one possession games. You're arguing just to argue. There's a greatest players list because any player can be compared. Stop acting like positions nullify comparisons. Guess you think no one can say Moses is better than Moochie Norris. Why? Because they didnt play the same position. Get real, sir. We're talking about 2 players who are their team's primary ball handler, scorer, and facilitator. There's not a big difference in PG vs SG anyways. People are just dodging the question. You already knew that.
'14 Harden's spectacular also made history with this!!! http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2014/4/11/5606782/corey-brewer-51-points-minnesota-timberwolves True max-player you are, Jaime!!!
True. Harden's defense was atrocious in the series and his offense wasn't up to regular season standards. But this team still making it to the WCF if he was swapped with Dragic? I don't buy it. You can replace his awful defense. Replacing his spotty offensive output (read: points) might even be possible. But how do we know Dragic isn't shut down equally, if not worse than Harden was? Harden was playing well below his level on offense in large part to the way the Blazers played him. What's to say they don't take away Dragic's strengths as well? Does McHale make adjustments faster if Dragic is here? The fact is we just don't know. And based on a straight player for player swap I just don't buy that we make it much farther. At risk of kicking an anthill this is like the, "If Lin wasn't here we would have advanced" threads after he made some key mistakes. Sure, take away just those mistakes and there's a chance we win a few more games. But take away Lin entirely and who knows what production you get in return.
