cyberx just told us in the most half ass way they're attempting to trade Harden... That's the only thing I could see someone NOT WANTING to say and leak...It's true isn't it?
It was the best at the time. 12th pick in lamb, kevin martin, and plus two future firsts and a second. martin was sacramento's franchise player at one point and he was brought to houston to be no.2 behind yao.
If this happens.. it would probably backfire... you send Harden to a Eastern Conference team thats not the Heat or Pacers, then he would immediately propel to another level.. I can almost guarantee it.
Interesting, but not completely shocking. Love didn't play with Howard this season, and I doubt he was watching all the Rockets games or following all the Rockets related media coverage. His impressions are probably heavily influenced by previous seasons (LA and Orlando). We need to remember that numerous Rockets players also said during the season that Dwight was nothing like how they expected in terms of the public perceptions of him as a person. Its hard to shake a reputation, especially one that's been splashed all over the news for multiple years running. Remember, this is the guy that many view as responsible for running SVG out of Orlando and not getting along with Kobe. I wouldn't put too much into it as long as he thinks Dwight is a good player. I'm more concerned about the Harden not being a competitor comments than comments about Dwight being a crybaby (a not completely uncommon perception). All we can do is see how it pans out.
Harden is way too young to give up on him. A Harden trade would have to net a Love or Carmelo with the added knowledge that we could add another superstar... like Lebron.
I can believe this. I think a lot of players probably think this way. I don't see Harden or Dwight as being the most popular guys in the league, but I could be wrong. Just my opinion.
So Love doesn't think Harden's a winner? I would respect that statement if it came from someone who actually won. I've been pretty critical of Harden, but Harden has actually led his team to the playoffs twice as the man. Kevin Love has played as many playoff games as I have lol.
Maybe I am parsing cyberx's words, but it seems that Love's criticism of Howard is purely, or at least mostly, about how he went about leaving Orlando and LA. cyberx said that Love thinks highly of Dwight as a player. And it appears that Dwight the player is an ideal front court partner for Love-- rim protector, great finisher at the rim, draws attention inside. The bottom line in this process is how much Love wants to play with a guy or not. So I wonder how much Love weighs "the Dwightmare" behaviors in his decision. If Love becomes a Rocket, he will for certain benefit from "Dwight the player" while it doesn't look like the whole "crybaby/drama queen" stuff will very likely be relevant-- Dwight's been drama-free as a Rocket and wouldn't have many reasons to leave a good partner like Love.
Love don't want to team up with Harden?!?! Then it's time to trade Harden....to Atlanta. Houston get: Carmelo Paul Millsap Jeff Teague Atlanta get: Harden Asik Knicks get: Love Lin Covington Minnesota get: Shumpert Parsons Jones Atlanta's 1st Rounder
Seriously, he lead a team who's second best player was Omer Asik to the playoffs in his first year with the team, Love hasn't been able to lead a team that was built around him to the playoffs (or even an above .500 record) even once.
Regarding Love's thoughts on Harden and Howard.... Keep in mind, everyone has their own warts. Every organization does. You could probably identify issues with any number of players and organizations that might be on the short list to obtain Kevin Love. So, don't get caught up too much on those opinions.
Kevin Love is a known jackass....The type of jackass that would request a trade and leave in FA......Don't want him now that I think about more thoroughly...
Love isn't the best defender, but he is far from Harden's level of horrible. Love's issue is that he isn't all that long or athletic making him less than ideal as a guy to contest interior shots. But he absolutely gobbled up defensive rebounds-- which matters for defense-- and is generally aware of his surroundings. There are not famous youtube videos of Kevin Love not trying on D and getting backdoored while not paying attention like there is of Harden.
