If Love is basing his opinion on Dwight's performance and demeanor over the last 3 years, I get where he's coming from. Let's be honest. Dwight WAS whining and complaining a lot at the end in Orlando and during his only year with the Lakers. And during this 2-year period, Dwight's coaches in both Orlando and L.A. were fired(SVG and Mike Brown). Now all that being said, I think Dwight was a solid team guy this past year and played his heart out against the Blazers. If 2014-15 goes the same as this past season, he's well on his way to shedding that drama queen label. But I do understand why Love would have some hesitation about joining the Rockets given recent history.
Seriously? Love can go **** himself then, Dwight is a better person and player than Love will ever be. Bring in Lowry, Millsap, Rondo or Melo and forget this fool.
Cyberx show some proof were Love said what you just stated. If not I for one wont believe you especially when Love doesn't play defense either.
We don't need a big time trade that's the thing. Harden and Howard are PLENTY to win a title with. Go get Lowry and some solid vets and were fine
It won't come down just to assets. Part of the equation is that Love has to WANT to sign long term in those locations to be part of a team that can compete for a championship. It is unclear if those teams can do that very quickly. Those teams might not be willing to RISK moving high quality assets if Love is going to be a 2015 FA...which he will be to maximize his salary. Lots of elements in the equation.
Thanks cyberx. Appreciate the insight. Not too worried about those statements. Similar stuff came out about Harden BEFORE Dwight signed with us. "He's a ball hog on Kobe's level..." Not saying Harden and Howard don't have their flaws, but at the end of the day they are the best players in the league at their respective positions (and frankly no one else is that close). My guess is that Love's personal feelings about either of them fall pretty far down the list for decision making. Also wouldn't be terribly surprised if this was something put out there to create leverage for the Rockets.
LOL NOW THAT'S FUNN.Y I believe you too. Love is quite the jackass as a person. This is known. I still kind of want him though.
If Love has issues with Harden/Howard in regards to being a "high level competitor" that means Love probably would rather align himself with Kobe. That said, can the Lakers be more competitive than the Rockets over the next few years? Does Love have faith in Jim Buss' leadership?
I don't get why people scorn about Love not "leading" a team to the playoffs. It's a problem only if he's expected to be the top dog of the team. But that's not what his role is supposed to be on a championship team. He should be the second or third guy.
Love went to UCLA... loved it in LA... Not saying he will end up with the Lakers.. but alot of people down here are under the impression he will come back to California or along the West Coast...
ok well one question. What team can give him a more immediate opportunity to move into the ELITE team category. Forget the elite player comparisons because Dwight showed how zoned in he was this past playoffs and Harden would do as much as love if he was on a lottery team like love is.
