The problem is there are too many smart GMs these days. Philly, Atlanta, Boston - none of these teams are going to take a BS deal
Lol at least you didn't find my idea outlandish. I'd think Sam Hinkie would like to do Morey a solid but also get to accomplish a lot more. 1. He gets two expiring contracts. 2. He gets to take Thaddeus Young off of the books 3. He gets a 2nd Rounder out of the deal 4. He keeps the 76ers competitive JUSTenough to appease the fanbase before Nerlens Noel, MCW, and Parker/Wiggins/etc takes over.
That's why it will take a Godfather deal to get it done. On paper, it may even seem like Houston lost on the trade. On the court, we will be the winners. Morey can round out the roster even without draft picks at his disposal. He can buy early in the second like he has in the past and has the MLE to spend.
hahaah. at least we're being realistic that it's going to cost Parsons, Asik, Lin, Jones, plus picks potentially
Love is 6'8 at most and he's going to be substantially shorter trying to guard guys like LMA and generally all the much longer 4 and 5s. I hope you guys know this limitation since you already complain about how small TJ is since Love is even shorter and smaller.
Basically Hinkie would be renting out caproom in order to get something back. Swap out the 2nd Rounder for a 1st Rounder if it makes it all more appealing. Getting Thaddeus Young off of the books is another plus. If Noel, MCW, and whoever they draft this summer can form their nucleus for the next few years and have major cap room to boot.
Cyber X- man it sucks that you wont share info now.. If you have a change of heart please post what you know
I think its hilarious that the folks here that complained the most about Jones being undersized against the tall trees in the West are the ones here gunning for Love the most. What does Love add to the team honestly??? Elite shooting, and high volume Isolation scoring from the PF position. He is a Minus defender, often leaves his assignment to get in position for rebounds, and the Rockets already have one of the best rebounders in the league in Dwight Howard. Love makes the offensive attack of Houston that much more deadly, but honestly much of anything more than Melo would, or really Ryan Anderson.... ok i get it... Love is miles above Ryan Anderson with his versatility offensively, but you catch my drift. You are basically going to pay 18+ million a year for a superstar stretch 4 who plays bad defense & takes rebounds away from your best rebounder who was already going to get those rebounds anyways. Id love to have Love, but I'm not going to go on record saying that this move would be the greatest move in the history of professional sports for a team or anything. Morey would still have work to do unfortunately.
I don't want to give info anymore - instead of thank yous I get killed on this board. Tomorrow will clear things up a lot though. Lakers and Celtics are going to both see where they fall and then get together and see what they want to do. If Lakers get top 3, I don't see them giving that for Love.
There are so many skeptics here that it just ruins it for everyone. Its ridiculous how someone like cyberx, who has no need to divulge info here BUT chooses to keep us in the loop, gets run out by idiots around here.
Too much top tier talent in this draft to give up for Love. They may have a chance at a true "franchise changer" in the top 3. Anyways thanks for everything and sorry for all the idiots
Thanks for your service to the board. You have done wonders my friend. I'm sorry to see that people didn't appreciate the information you brought to the board.
Yeah, I mean... Embiid, Parker, or Wiggins on a rookie salary vs. Love without the means to bring in a supporting cast ASAP and no guarantee he will sign long term after next season...... After getting burned by Dwight last year, I think its safe to say that its going to be tough to convince even the Lakers in moving one of those three potentially game changing prospects even for Kevin Love.
