    I like it...a lot.

PG: Beverley, Canaan (FA - need to pick someone up)
    SG: Harden, Daniels, FA
    SF: Parsons, FA
    PF: Love, Covington
    C: Howard, FA

I think this is a classic imagined deal where you go "ew, I don't want this guy cuz he sucks, but hey, maybe this other team would be willing to give up a star player that I do want for him"

Anyone believe a trade exists in which we acquire K. Love while also retaining Parsons, or is it far more likely that Chandler Bang would be included in any plausible trade package?

    Unlikely.

Such a scenario does exist for Carmelo, Lowry, or Milsap however.

Kevin Love At a Glance: 2013-2014 Statistics
    25 y/o; 6ft10in; 243 lbs.

Per Game Stats via nba.com: http://stats.nba.com/leaguePlayerGe...lters=MIN*GE*28&PlayerPosition=F&columnOrder=
Points per game = 26.1 (ranks 1st among all PFs and 4th overall in the league-behind Durant, Melo, and LeBron via nba.com).
Field Goals Attempts per game = 18.5
Field Goals Made per game = 8.4
Three Points Attempts per game = 6.6
Three Points Shots Made per game = 2.5
Catch and Shoot Field Goal Attempts per game = 6.3
Pull Up Shots Field Goal Attempts per game = 3.4
    Drives per game = 1.0
Drive Points per game = 0.90
Free Throw attempts per game= 8.2
Free Throws made per game = 6.8
    Free Throw % = 82.1%
    Effective Field Goal % = 52.4
    Usage % = 28.4
Offensive Rebounds per game = 2.9
Defensive Rebounds per game = 9.6
Total Rebounds per game = 12.5
    Assists per game= 4.4
    Turnovers per game= 2.5
    Steals per game = 0.80
    Blocks per game= 0.50
Personal Fouls per game = 1.8
Minutes Played Per Game = 36.3
    Total Games Played = 77

Defense (nba.com) and Real Plus Minus (RPM) Stats via ESPN: http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/RPM/position/6
DRPM (Defensive Real Plus Minus) = +1.55; 24th best of 90 PFs)
ORPM (Ofensive Real Plus Minus) = 3.54; 3rd best of 90 PFS and 20th best in the league (437 players).
Total RPM = 5.09; e.g. 4th best of 90 PFs and 10th best in the league.
DefRtg (from nba.com) = 104.1; about the same as Chandler Parsons.
    http://stats.nba.com/leaguePlayerGe...PerPage=50&filters=MIN*GE*28&PlayerPosition=F

Summary: Defensively, the numbers conflict; a Plus Defender (not elite but not bad either) via espn (DRPM) and slightly below average defender via nba.com; the difference is a function of source computation. Kevin Love averages 18.5 (rounded up to 19) shot attempts per game but I don’t see how he can do that here and keep Harden (17 shots per game), Howard (11 shots per game), and Parsons if retained (13 shots per game) happy; and what's the role of the PG in all this?

    My 3-team Trade:

    Hawks get: Omer Asik

Timberwolves acquire: Paul Millsap + Chandler Parsons + Terrence Jones or Donatas Motiejunas + Picks (from HOU)

    Rockets receive: Kevin Love

    Who says no?

If Atlanta would do that, we are better off keeping Milsap and chasing after Lowry in free agency, using jones to dump Lin.

    Parsons, Milsap, Lowry > Love

Yes, it is. But not for the conclusions the poster was trying to egregiously support. The dude needs a hard look in the mirror to see what path he wants to take. Im not trading his grass for K-love, or another star though.

Basing this on a report that the Hawks were interested in a deal for Asik and move Horford to the 4 spot. Anyhow, i've created a realistic enough deal that some of our fans are the ones who'll say no to acquiring Love.

Let's be real here, if the Wolves are trading us Kevin Love, they'll at least want Parsons included in any package. They already have Pekovic and Dieng at center and Rubio, Barea, Shved at the point.

    PG- Ricky Rubio
    SG- Kevin Martin
    SF- Chandler Parsons
    PF- Paul Millsap
    C- Nikola Pekovic

Here's a much more tempting one:

Hawks get: Omer Asik + Donatas Motiejunas

Timberwolves acquire: Paul Millsap + Chandler Parsons + Jeremy Lin + Terrence Jones + Picks

Rockets recieve: Kevin Love + Corey Brewer

    Who says no?

Houston is in perfect position to be a third team in a Love deal and potentially even Lebron, Carmelo, Bosh, Dirk, Randolph, Gay deals.

-Contracts that are big and expiring like Asik and Lin
    -Multiple Picks
    -Sweetner like Jones, Motiejunas, etc

Very well could create enough cap space too do big things in free agency and get back a nice rotation player like Draymond Green from the Warriors, Jimmy Butler from the Bulls, etc which makes the remaining cap space + MLE + the 2.5 mil bi-annual exemption too be more selective with filling the remaining roster.

Rockets could possibly land 4-5 very good rotation players if they can move Asik, Lin, some developmental prospects and picks if need be.
Lowry, Hawes, Sefolosha, Tucker, Deng, Bradley are the free agents I'd put more of a focus on immediately while everyone salivates over Melo, Dirk, etc Nows the time for Morey to build around Harden, Howard the way he did around Yao and TMAC (a team that almost made it into the playoffs and took the Lakers to 7 games one year)

Seems more reasonable trade, although I'm worried about trading for Millsap or Love. Both can walk in the 2015 FA market, but people seem to like trading for Millsap more than trading for Love (presumably because we give up less).

    Parsons/Tucker (2.5)/Garcia
    Green/Jones/Covington
    Howard/Hawes (MLE)/Motiejunas

Houston say no. It leaves us empty at the 3. If Parsons were involved, Morey would at least want Corey Brewer.

Timberwolves have money with Brewer, Budinger and Shabazz, I think we could get away with keeping Parsons espicially if we can get some good for Lin. Keep in mind Lin is an expiring contract.

Jones, Milsap, Dmo, Covington and picks. Wolves bigs are set for the long term.

The only threat I see at the trade table is if the Celtics are ready to give up there pick. If that happens, we lose leverage and if we have to give Parsons then we do it but hold onto Jones or get Brewer included.

Budinger, Rubio and Pekovic can't even bring them to playoffs... Timberwolves need a change of scenery. ;)

We aren't gonna get anything of value for Lin. If teams like the warriors are involved we'd have to give up parsons. The warriors could give up thompson, barnes and lee for love. That beats our package already

I'd actually rather have Deron or Lowry. Unless you have LeBron, I think a contender these days needs a good to great PG. The Rockets also need a better defensive coordinator. Our defense was just terribad.

So this is why we kept McHale on... I knew Morey had a reason.

It may have already been mentioned but getting Love in a trade will likely cost you Parsons and Jones whereas Melo would not since you could make the rumored Boston trade of Asik and Lin for nothing. Then just sign Melo outright while retaining Parsons.

Can you honestly say that Love > Melo, Parsons, and Jones?
