A full r****d (not me) ignores the evidence. Our first round flameout, which was mostly Harden's fault, should have been instructive, but it clearly wasn't to you. As the saying goes, a wise man learns from the mistakes of others; an average man learns from his own mistakes; an idiot never learns.
I can see them trading Parsons, Jones, Dmo, Asik and Lin in three way trade with Boston and Minnesota. Houston gets Love and Rondo Boston gets Asik, Parsons, and Dmo Minnesota gets Jones, Lin Boston Draft pick ( top 5)
I'm assuming by your perspective that you believe harden to be as close to a finished product as he'll ever be and that it's time to sell high on a stock that has peaked?
The first obstacle in acquiring Love has been cleared, he is making it known he wants out. The second hurdle will be being included on his "list". As of now the Rockets are in the middle of the pack, they need to acquire another 1st rounder to sweeten their offer. Asik is their best asset, but unfortunately two of the teams that could be interested in Asik for picks are also interested in Love, Phoenix and Boston. As of right now, without knowing Love's preference, from Minnesota's perspective it I think it goes Boston, Lakers, Golden State, Phoenix, and Houston. Out of those 5, I think only Phoenix will be eliminated if Love has a say.
Of course. That is what Morey does. Unlikely. Even if Kevin Love goes after only a year with us, our dumping of James "the Big Negative" Harden will leave us ahead. We will see who is ignorant. By then, however, it will be too late for you. I certainly haven't mentioned Lin in this thread. It's revealing that you did.
Love is the last guy in his personal arsenal. Love or bye bye Kevin McHale. He shouldn't be here if we can't get to the WCF at the least
This is likely a more fair deal given the respective contract situations. Then the Rockets can hopefully turn the pick around in a packaged deal for another top guy like Rondo, Lowry Melo or Patterson.
As a restricted free agent, Patterson would be way too difficult to acquire? Unless you meant Steve Patterson...but what good does an NBA draft selection do for the Longhorns?
We all need to remember what the Dwight Howard saga taught us....in the new CBA, a max player in their final contract year before unrestricted free agency IS going to hit free agency. They will not sign an extension, and they may very well leave. The simple truth is that once Love hits free agency in 2015, everyone is on the same level including the team that acquires him in a trade. You must convince him AT THAT POINT why he should stay. The fact that Love WILL hit free agency in 2015 changes the market for him. It means that he likely won't require a "Harden-esqe" haul, as Harden was heading into RESTRICTED free agency. I acknowledge that Harden was probably the less proven player at the time of the trade, but he was still considered a "star". The team that trades for him must know that they will be one of, if not the best place for him to sign in 2015. That team, in my not unbiased opinion, is the Rockets. We offer him: 1) a system that fits his skill set very well 2) the absolute best fit center to play next to in Dwight 3) an elite wing scorer that can balance out some of the offensive load (Harden) 4) our coach is the guy that drafted and mentored him 5) he has a good relationship with Harden 6) even after trading away some pieces for him, we will still have enough to compete As with Dwight, the real question is how much does Love want to win. If winning is at the top of the list, then Houston is the obvious choice. If that 5th contract year is more important, then he will go to the highest bidder and resign there.
Yes. If Harden were growing, some improvement should have happened this year. But if anything he has regressed; his Eurostep is almost gone, for instance. Are you sure that James "only God can judge me" Harden will learn much? Because if you aren't, it would be better to have Love instead.
I see okay it makes sense why you're thinking the way you are. I don't see it that way though (I do think he's improved each year). I am concerned about his commitment to putting in 100% effort but that's true for a lot of young people. Whether he'll grow beyond that is a risk but I do think it's worth staying invested in him and hope he does grow in that way. I actually think Minny fans might have the same feelings about love ironically enough. But hey they're both still so young. Anyway, you think he's peaked and regressing.....I think most posters here are giving you a hard time because most of us think he's still got more left in him to achieve. Only time will tell....
his eurostep isn't "gone". What did he forget how to do a move he knows how to do better than any one in the league? He stopped doing it as much because the refs were calling it as a travel. Another thing, what does, "only god can judge me" have to do with anything. It's a saying, it means nothing. Players work there whole career to do some of the stuff james can do and can't do it. Defense is about effort, if he wants to play better d or actually look like he's f****** trying he will. The dude is 24 years old. Harden's defense disgusts me as much as the next guy but y'all are really starting to troll. And to top it all of we're talking about kevin love, who has combined with pekovic to have some of the WORST interior defensive numbers in the league and can't block shots
Kevin Love will easily put this team over the top. If we get Kevin Love on this team I will drink my own piss.
