The Rockets have several relationships that can help them.

First is obviously McHale,,whom drafted him, mentored him and then coached him. They still have a strong relationship.

Second is James Harden, who works out with Love during the off season and has a social friendship with.

Third is Bickerstaff, who has a prior "amicable" relationship with Love.

Depends what the others offers are. I have a feeling that Twolves will keep him until the deadline. In which case, unless Parsons' contract is extended, they probably wont do that deal. As the article mentioned, Twolves wont want Parsons on an expiring.

Already started, no teams that are in the playoffs can trade though.

I'll take Bledsoe. The thing is Harden's going to still manipulate this offense into iso. We need a pf that can take the ball away from Harden and do McHale's job as well. If we get love I have a feeling he's just going to waste and not be used properly just standing around

To include the 2014 pick the trade will need to happen before or on draft night unless the Rockets select the player Minnesota wants (Very unlikely). If they do do a draft night trade then the Rockets could include 3 first round draft picks (2014, 2016, 2018) and any number of second round picks.

If Parsons is to be included then the draft night trade makes the most sense as the Timberwolves can then make him a restricted free agent allowing them to match any offer.

I'd say if the trade doesn't happen on or before draft night then the Rockets are FAR less likely to get Love.

That said, if Morey isn't willing to part with Parsons in a deal for Love then it's highly unlikely anyway.

The best offer I think Morey would make without Parsons included is
    Asik/Jones/Llull/2014 1st/2016 1st/2018 1st/future 2nd rounder.

    That's a deal I'd make....

Lowry then rondo. I'm not saying I don't want Love, I would want him here but if it hinders getting a PG then no. Our main problem was ball sticky and no plays. A pf doesn't fix that.

Typo. A PG that can take the ball away from Harden.

Right. We're just gonna sit an all-star pf on the perimeter while harden dribbles all game long. Just like we did with our all-star center:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I think of all the teams that are pursuing Love, it'll be between us and the Lakers.

the Knicks don't have anything to offer Minnesota. No picks. no talent. no cap space. and no coach.

the Suns wouldn't be a contender even if Love joins them. same with Boston.

as for the Warriors...any combination of their player feels like "too much" for Love.

That's not going to solve the issue.

    I get your point though.

Morey seemed willing to make an offer to Orlando for Howard that was the same whether Howard said he would resign or not. Other teams may be willing to take the same risk (assume they can convince Love to stay once they get him on the team).

exactly and it's not even close. If bogut isn't healthy love gives the warriors another OFFENSIVE weapon but hurts the same if not a little less than lee does on D. Love needs to be next go a great defender, we have that in dwight.

I agree that's our main issue, but Love is such a great player that i don't think we pass on him.

Lets say Durant would become available to us, would you also pass on him for a point guard? As with Love, i wouldn't. I think there both so talented that if we ever got the chance to obtain them we should and hope the team and the coaching staff could work out our problems. Really just some changes to our system would fix the problem, so lets hope our players and coaching staff can fix it this off season.
