Melo and Howard are leaders. Don't confuse being an ass hole for being a leader, that's what rondo is.

I would like Love. The problem is going after him would probably require the Rockets to wait til close to the trade deadline before they have a realistic shot at getting him from Minnesota. Which means passing up on Melo, Rondo, and many other players this offseason. It's a huge gamble.

The people that constantly bash James, Chandler and Jeremy for their defense will have a field day with Love. That being said, I like him as a defensive rebounder and would LOVE his game on offense. But offense hasn't really been our problem.

Kevin Love isn't nearly as bad a defensive player as people make him out to be, he's certainly much better than Terrence Jones. His defensive RAPM has consistently been in the positive numbers.

The main reason his team hasn't been able to win is because he isn't a closer and the wolves lost an inordinate amount of close games, but if he is one of your 3 best players you are in spectacular shape.

He would be the dream addition for me. Millsap number 2, and Melo number 3

Love or Anthony would both be upgrades but it all depends on what the Rockets have to give up to acquires the players. Love would be my #1 choice because he gives the team rebounding and scoring at the 4 position and is more of a team player. Carmelo is also a great scorer but what separates the two and makes Love a better fit is his ability to move without the ball and set screens to run the high pick-n-roll, something the Rockets run a lot. Don't get me wrong, Carmelo is a tremendous one on one player, one of the best in the league, but rarely does he try to get other players involved in the offense.

Think about all the high pick-n-rolls Harden ran last year with Asik and Howard, neither of which could shoot the ball from he outside. Howard can take it to the hole and slam it home with alley-oops but neither player can hold onto the ball after a screen to hit an open jumper. This limits the offense. Love would take this offense to another level with his ability to play inside and out.

The lingering question, though, is what the Rockets would have to give up to aquire said players. With Anthony we might be able to hang on to Parsons if we can shed Lin and Asik. That bolds well for the Rockets. With Love we might have to give up a player like Parsons to sweeten the pot for the Timberwolves, especially since Love already stated his destination of preference.

I have a slight preference for Anthony over Love. Very close but IMO Anthony is the better shot creator. For himself and others. If Harden goes down in a Harden/Love/Howard trio then I have some questions about who will close the games and create from the perimeter.

In a Harden/Melo/Howard trio, Melo can create from anywhere. If Harden goes down, he can step out and create.

    Of the ranked feasible solutions...

    1. Anthony
    2. Love
    3. Rondo
    4. Lowry
    5. Bosh
    6. Williams

Melo would cost more than Love. He fits with the team a lot better than Melo. Team Love because that's the only reason McHale is still here.

Lowry, Deng, and Dirk... any of the combo of those two or even all three!

Love fits the best, but since we have Dwight, the pg position must be
addressed. Even with Love PG will be a prob. This of course if we couldn't get Love,
And Lowry (or someone similar not max)

    I voted of course RooooooooNDO!

Of the four, mark Williams off the list immediately. His contract is toxic, his game is in decline, and I'd be stunned if Morey wanted anything to do with him. The other three in this order, Love, Anthony, Rondo. Of the three, Rondo is probably the most gettable. I suspect Love cares more about living in LA or NY than actually winning, and I also suspect that Carmelo will not be willing to leave money on the table. Do you see Phil Jackson doing a S&T? Me neither. That leaves Rondo as the most likely of the three to end up here.

i know we have a hole at the PF. But the 2 most important positions on a basketball team is Pg and C. You can't win without a good player at these positions, unless u have a player like Lebron, Kobe or Jordan.

That being said, we need a starting caliber pg more than we need a PF.
Jones is serviceable. Not saying he is the best, but i would rather have Rondo than Kevin Love.

This is the reason McHale is still here I guarantee it. He increases our shot at Love 10 fold.
