Yup, always about the money. Anyone who thinks this is purely just a disgruntled receiver wanting to win is naive...Im sure Andre wants to win too, but at the end of the day, money talks.
Bwhahaha Andre has been the ultimate professional since day one and now we have jokers calling hom a diva. Not only a diva but a person who thinks he is better than everyone else . Lmbao Remii I see what you are talking about pimpn.
All of this is just sad. Andre has a good right to feel how he feels as well as Bill O'brien. I find no fault in anyone I just hope to see Andre play for us this upcoming year.
That's just my point: There's no evidence that AJ has changed or is showing his hidden "evil selfish diva" persona. All he's done is publicly express his frustration and reservations about where he is in his career and the lack of success he's experienced. Last year clearly pushed him to his breaking point and I believe that he was looking for something spectacular from this draft (Manzel???) And when that didn't happen his frustrations boiled over. His inner drive to be the best is what's behind this because if you want to be the best then you can never, ever accept losing. OK, so I took some time to look at what you're saying and I totally get your anger at AJ because they (Texans) need him to buy into whatever they are selling and so far, he ain't buying. But I can also see where AJ is coming from as well. He's screwed and he knows it - his contract makes it nearly impossible to be traded and he can see himself ending his career with very little to show for his efforts. Sure he's well paid and set for life financially but just what will his legacy be? Great player but never a champion? That's a bitter pill to have to swallow. And while I can admire your faith in the Texans' organization and BoB the truth is that until we actually see what kind of offense he puts on the field - until we actually see what Fitzpatrick can do (not holding my breath here), we have no basis to believe this will be the "quick" rebuild job you and McNair are espousing. I'm not being pessimistic, just practical. The results will speak for themself.
This is not, not a rebuild. Why do I keep seeing this? It would be different if this team was starting over but they're not. This team has alot of talent and did well in the draft and got rid of some key weak links (Schaub,Kubiak). This team could be in the hunt this year for the playoffs, yeah thats right I said playoffs.
The problem is those weak links they got rid of were how they got in the playoffs. They lost Ben Tate, Antonio Smith and Owen Daniels. Maybe Cushing and foster stay healthy but you still don't have any good QBs. This is not a winning team. JJ Watt can't put 30 points on the board or stop a run up the middle.
Talking about how he used to be doesn't justify how he's being right now pimpn. Airing dirty laundry to the media would be pretty clear evidence of a change. The old "team player" Andre wouldn't have done that. ......yes, which is what we're talking about. He's publicly talking about wanting to bail on the organization. See how that's a "change"? I don't know why I have to spell this out when you already seem to know. A better way of putting it would be to say that they need him to be the team player that he was for the vast majority of his career, and he's upset about his contract situation and publicly talking about wanting to leave as a sort of "punishment" because they didn't give him a new deal.
Much better, the other team may as well had his playbook. A coach who knows his qb's limitations and calls plays accordingly is what i think we have now. Think about it yall, O'B won with Matt Cassel.
BOB was the Wide Receivers coach the year Cassel had his big year. They probably won a lot more because of Belichick and Josh McDaniels that year. The only NFL QB he's ever actually coached on the field and called plays for is an already-established Tom Brady. I like the pick of BOB as coach, but people need to stop making him into some kind of miracle worker with QBs - it may be true, but its all just conjecture at this point. Kubiak had a much longer and deeper track record of turning average QBs into good players when he got hired by the Texans.
No one should be putting 'coached Matt McGloin for one year in college' on their NFL resume as evidence of being an NFL QB genius. The Raiders thought so much of McGloin that they traded for Matt Schaub.
The Raiders also don't have a track record of making smart choices if you want to go that route. You seem to be against the B'OB signing?
I'm with Major. I have no reason to believe that BOB is actually some sort of QB guru. I do like his offensive philosophies, but they only work if he gets solid QB play.
In the first post you quoted, I said I like the BOB pick as coach. But liking him as a head coach does not mean I think he is some kind of QB miracle worker that can turn any random QB into a great QB. Matt McGloin is certainly not evidence of that. The closest guy you have in the NFL to a QB miracle worker might be ... Gary Kubiak, who turned guys like Jake Plummer and Brian Griese into not just servicable, but very good, NFL QBs with his system. (and maybe Schaub, though we don't have a non-Kubiak comparison point on how good he might be) I'm still of the belief, until proven otherwise, that this team's #1 priority needs to be finding a legit highly rated QB prospect to build a team around for the next 10 years. Otherwise, you're just rolling the dice and hoping to get lucky and will have very inconsistent offensive play year to year. Hopefully Tom Savage or Ryan Fitzpatrick work out - but counting on it is foolish, IMO.
Under Kubiak this team was all about the run and the defense. We know Kubiak was severely overrated as evidence by what he did with this team... now Bill O'brien is getting his chance let's see what happens. Let the truth be told.
