Toronto wanted Lin before we traded Lowry to them. If Lowry wanting to come back is true, S&T Lin to Toronto. Then swap Asik/Parsons/T-Jones for Love? Or Asik for Millsap if that doesn't work out..

This. I very much like the idea of adding both Millsap and Hawes. Hawes can stretch and play 4 with Howard, and give us a TT combo that I think would work, and Millsap gives us a more traditional PF presence. I think TJ would be expendable in this situation, too. Which might make Lin easier to move.

That would be a ridiculously solid frontcourt, with room to make moves in the backcourt, I think.

We need some more killers on this team. Always loved Rondo's fight.

I don't know how good Rondo is anymore, but even if he never approaches elite PG status again, that's a sick lineup. I almost hope he's declined and Ainge knows it, so that we could get him on the cheap. Even then, I have to imagine it would take some picks, Parsons, Asik, or some combo of those, to make it work.

As much as I love Harden, I don't think the Rockets win it all with Beard as our primary ball handler. Primary offensive struggle last year wasn't abysmal 3FG% (Rockets were above average), it was the ball getting "sticky". Rondo helps on O more than he hurts.

Omer Asik + Casspi for Ersan Ilyasova and ZaZa Pachulia

    and

    Lin + 2014 & 2016 (lottery protected) 1st for Rajon Rondo

    Sign PJ Tucker with MLE

    Lineup:
PG: Rondo / Beverly / Canaan
SG: Harden / Daniels / Garcia
SF: Parsons / Tucker / Covington
PF: Ilyasova / Jones / DMo
    C: Howard / Pachulia / 2nd round pick

Covington and 2nd Rd Center play at RGV unless there are injuries.

I am sorry but some of you guys are delusional. Hawks are not giving up Millsap for Asik. Millsap>>>>Asik.

Rondo would be an even worse fit for this "Moreyball" offense than Lin...... Rondo's midrange game is maybe the best in basketball, but "Moreyball" would greatly hinder it... And Rondo was never good with the three ball and is a screen-a-holic. I can picture him wanting out, just like Kyle Lowry.... Unless we give him some MAJOR leeway in his playmaking.

Asik for Millsap and Korver. Getting away with murder, Darrell Morray style.

Millsap is the better fit for us. Asik is the better fit for Atlanta. It's a great deal for both sides.. Atlanta wants a true center so Horford can move to his traditional spot at PF. We need a rebounding stretch four who can defend to compliment Dwight Howard. The only needs left would be a point guard and some vets to come off the bench..

Horford is better than Millsap, but I think if they keep Horford at C for another season, come next offseason he's telling them there's no hope he stays. He hates it, and he keeps getting injured because of it.

Hoqw do you not get that if a player has a great midrange game, there's no issue with it?

The whole issue with midrange shots is that most players shoot them only a few percent better than their 3's so it's not worth it, a player with a great midrange game can take all he wants.

People have told you this over and over and over.

There is no issue with midrange shots, it's just most players are bad at them

In your scenario...if we gave up those 3 for K. Love, we would HAVE to get Corey Brewer in that trade as well...or else we would have nobody at that SF position.

With your scenario...we would have (just naming starters):

    PG: K. Lowry
    SG: J. Harden
    SF: ?????
    PF: K. Love
    C: D. Howard

They'd be more likely to give us a Budinger reunion.. So if they don't want to give us Brewer, we have Bud. If they want those three for Love, wonder if we could convince Luol Deng to come here for full MLE? Doubt it but ya never know..

Yes, they would like to put Horford at PF but that doesn't mean they're going to swap Millsap for Asik when Millsap has proven to be the superior player. Millsap/Horford combo is a lot better than a Horford/Asik combo.

Horford doesn't want to play the center position anymore! That's why we were in sign and trade talks for J-Smoove. Luckily that didn't work out. Point is that am Asik/Horford combo would be deadly. Asik grabs the boards while Horford scores. All Atlanta would need is scoring threat on the wing to be contenders in the east..

Do you understand Millsap signed a 2 yr deal with Atlanta making next season his last? It makes alot of sense if they get something for him swapping him with asik and he starts for them while Horford shifting back to the 4 spot. They can then resign Asik a true center they've been seeking.

We don't need Milsap or Love. We need Asik more than either. Love is a glorified David Lee and PM won't help us any on the defensive end either.

I think we've learned we're not going to win a title trading buckets as our current strategy has resulted in. Our style of play is a big concern from a stamina standpoint. Until we have the right balance, our defense will pay the price time and time again. It's not just Harden who waits till it's too late to play D, it's the whole team. It's the whole philosophy. It's Morey and McHale as well. IMO, Morey has to have learned his lesson by being beaten by a far lesser opponent. We have two superstars and they had none. We should've squashed the Blazers considering we lost nothing in obtaining Dwight. Morey blew it personnel wise, by not having a true starting PG and PF on the team already waiting. We also played way too much small ball. Parsons needs to completely stray from playing the 4, and Lin should never play the 2 guard. Just because it was a more successful lineup at times than others, doesn't mean we should settle and consider it acceptable. Harden needs a competent backup. The mission of winning by numbers needs to meet reality at some point, and it needs to be accepted without damaging Morey's pride on the issue.

Keep in mind, there is no perfect team, so I say all this knowing full well Morey's a great, young GM. Bringing in Harden and Howard was next to impossible to do. It's just a live and learn situation this off season.

Les needs to stay out his way that's for sure. Lin is one of the dumbest signings in NBA history. I mean absolutely atrocious from a pure basketball standpoint. He's a third stringer at best. Should be sent to D-league to work on his entire game, and if he doesn't progress by the time his contract is up, so be it. At least he won't fester on the national stage.
