She's not running though, not as of now, and it doesn't seem like there's any emphasis on "building-up" a Republican candidate.

If there's a race coming up, would you prefer to train, market, and put your horse in the race first, or would you spend your time and money convincing people not to bet on the other horse without giving them an alternative solution?

The strategy seems backwards to me. DON'T VOTE FOR HILLARY WHO MAY OR MAY NOT BE RUNNING ... ALSO, WE DON'T HAVE ANYBODY FOR YOU TO VOTE FOR.

Show me some announcement or website or something from Hillary Clinton, and I'll retract my statement. From the information I have so far, there's no confirmation that she's running for President in 2016.

I think the reason why they don't do that is because as one Republican candidate starts to become a frontrunner, then various groups of GOP faithful will focus their attention on taking that Republican down.

Now they can damage the likely Democratic frontrunner for whoever the eventual nominee is, and won't be doing damage to their own product yet.

That sounds plausible. It's also a sad state of affairs when either political party fears their nominees being taken down by their own party.
