I've thought a lot about it and depends what we get for him. But if he makes strides in his conditioning, heck no. If we get axed out of the first round next year, we should consider it..

If you read carefully before posting you would know that I didn't say would you trade Harden for Melo.

we should be happy to have Harden if we didn't have him the GARM would be having threads about who we should draft. Harden shouldn't be getting traded unless we get Lebron or KD which won't happen.

i doubt it. You add asik, when rebounding was not our friend to that 2011 team and we're a second round sweep for someone. but at least we would get past the 1st round.

Yes I would if the right deal came. Let's no be hypocrites. If people wanted tmac gone, then I want him gone if he doesn't shape up. A lot of people were left in a drought. They are so thirsty for a half assed all star.

Trading James Harden would be a DISASTER for this team, as its coaching and philosophy are currently constituted. If there is any player in the NBA capable of making "Moreyball" work and/or McHale succeed, it's James Harden. The disappointing playoff runs notwithstanding.

Not many players can score consistently without player movement off the ball, without screens, and under duress. Harden is in that elite few. (The only other players I can think of who could succeed in this system are Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony. But I don't think Anthony and Harden could co-exist in the same lineup.)

Or to say it another way, this team has been a ninth seed until Harden arrived. But if he leaves, even with better role players, this team would likely become a nine seed again.

One of those is not like the other.

    (unfortunately, probably two of those)

I would say 3. Parsons strikes me as Evan Turner-ish. Inflated stats due to minutes.

Would you have Dalembert come off the bench or him starting over Asik?

Harden and Howard are the core... everybody else could be featured in a trade..

The big question regarding Harden is how he would perform in a normal offensive system. Some claim that Harden demands the ball, and players willingly defer. But I suspect the system has made the other players realize that the system can only work through Harden, hence he cannot really be faulted. I cannot come to any conclusion here. (Harden might have a killer midrange game, and we don't even know it.)

Since Harden played from the bench with his previous team, often with other ball dominant players like Westbrook and Durant, the big unknown with Harden is how he would perform off the ball in an offense that requires player movement and screens. For I suspect his "laziness" might be more an artifact of the current system than anything else.

(I will also say Harden did set a few screens for Jeremy Lin, to great effect, late this past season. This is another reason why I'm not willing to throw Harden under the bus like some here have done. Until we see him in a normal offense, and without other ball-dominant players on the floor.)

    For Lebron or Durant. Yes!

Maybe a few others on the list too...

I read it carefully this time. Getting good role players, with Dwight and Melo would be helpful. I feel an S/T with Carmelo's willingness, while retaining James and using the MLE would be better.

There's prob a dozen scenarios under which I would trade Harden... but I doubt the other team would bite...

but If I could trade Harden and his max deal for someone like Lillards rookie scale contract plus assets and I'm all over it.... Lillard/Lma for Harden/Lin... in a heartbeat...(ps it works on trade machine... but as aforementioned, I doubt Portland would bite...)

John Wall, Beal, picks and take Lins contract... all day....

There are all kinds of scenarios under which I would trade Harden...

... just don't think any would meet the price...

Some of these cats would have started a "Should we trade Jordan?" thread after four years without a ring. Instant gratification age indeed. First year together and some of you are looking to blow up the team based on a hunch.

The answer is always yes. It depends on what you are getting for him. I would have traded Hakeem if it was for Jordan, Karl Malone and Patrick Ewing. Why not? Hell, Hakeem would have traded himself if it was for that price in 1992.
