With the possibility of getting Melo....would you guys be willing to trade James Harden to solidify our starting lineup and bench? Do you ever see Harden committing on the defensive end in the coming years?
Harden isn't athletic enough to score in traffic in PlayOff games with tight D on him. He's generally not durable enough to play at both ends of the court in crunch time.
Harden-Melo-Dwight could be the best big three since Miami...and that big three is about to disassemble. HELL NO. When you have three players that could finish top 5 in the MVP race any given year, you don't need much of bench.
Are you mad? Do you know how good Carmelo is when he's not being relied upon to create his own shot all the time?
I do see him committing to the defensive end in the coming years. He can create shots for himself, but not as well as Melo. Melo will be able to break defenses down in crunch times. He won't pass as much as Harden. Lots of people think Harden is selfish and not a good teammate, which is not true IMO. Melo has improved as a team player, but he is his own man in some ways I think. I said yes, to Melo for Harden when we lost. Right now, I want H and H plus Melo.
With all due respect, bratna8, but you really have to think about the subject of your thread before you post it. You want to trade a 24 year old star with room for improvement (defensively and offensively) for a star who is 5 years older and a bit of a ball hogger. Melo isn't exactly known for his defense, is he? I wouldn't think so.
