What's crazy about the Chris Jones situation is that we needed help on the DLine, Jones was a hard working hustle player that coaches like, and the coaches were raving about his work in camp.

It was really a stunner that he got cut.

Can you post their analysis on Tom Savage? What do they say exactly?

I need to know what they said about Reggie Bush, Vince Young, & Mario Williams. Heck, throw in Matt Leinart just for fun.

It was from this post, unfortunately he didn't post the analysis and the discussion stopped there, so all there is is that recap from that pay site.

me too, that would be interesting

Thanks, groovytexan, for linking us to this hopeful analysis of Savage.

Although Jones got sacks, he was blown off the ball constantly.

Also there are sites that have him ranked as the worst NT in the league last year. I still don't like that we ended up losing him due to bad roster management, but he's not some superstar in the making.

FWIW, that same site used a similar "Is Ricky Stanzi the best QB in the 2011 Draft" line, so don't go getting too excited.

It's an extreme long shot for a 4th round pick to do anything significant in the NFL. Best approach is to not expect anything and be pleasantly surprised if he becomes a productive player.

For only $30, I'll give it a shot. Who knows, maybe it'll help me with my Fantasy Football lineup. Let me know who y'all want reports on.

I would like to see what they said about the Mario Williams/Reggie Bush/Vince Young draft if possible. I appreciate it.

I'll look that up now. Here's a chart comparing Tom Savage to a group of other QB's. Sorry about the quality, it got a little blurry when I reduced the size.

Unfortunately, it looks like they started doing this for the 2012 draft class. However, they have historical comparisons, so I'll try to post those so you can see the kind of grades they handed out. I found Mario, gotta look for VY and Bush now.

According to the historical ratings, it looks like they would have chosen Mario over Young and Bush, though they did have this at the end of Clowney's individual report:

[rquoter]NFL outlook: Probably Robert Quinn or Mario Williams. He either becomes a guy with a true menacing pass-rush reputation, or he becomes a guy with a 'Superman' rep, but never really accomplishes anything that swell...like Mario Williams.[/rquoter]

By the way, they graded Clowney as an A+ prospect with an 11.87 grade. Anything over 10 is pretty much guaranteed star. Only Ryan Kerrigan had a higher rating, at 12.98.

I took screenshots of the top 20 for DE, RB-Speed, and QB. Here is historical ratings for DE's:

Reggie Bush had a slightly higher grade, but they have RB split into Power and Speed. Reggie didn't rank in the top 50 in Power, so that's why I'm assuming they'd rank Mario over Reggie Bush.

    And finally, Vince Young.

As you can see, Vince didn't crack the top 20. He was actually #42 (Schaub was #46 with a 7.223
