Looks ok, but "fresh off the boat" is an offensive term I cannot support. Why not "An Asian American Journey" for the show title instead?

Looks unfunny then again most sitcoms are unfunny now. Cool that Asian Americans get some representation in the media though. That are criminally underrepresented.

Did anyone see bad teacher? I had high hopes for it not really.

The pilot was okay. The second and third episodes had the same plot.

So basically that Asian show is like Jeremy Lin. Not as good as the previous Asian thing that got put into retirement wayyy too early. Nonetheless, I will watch it anyway because it's Asian and hope for the best.

Never a fan of Eddie's personality or mediocre restaurant, but I'll give it a watch.

I like how the black guys name is Andre Johnson, the Asian should be named Jeremy Lin!

I guess the network executives still aren't ready to show a sitcom with an Asian family that doesn't speak with an exaggerated accent or broken English.

I can't even begin to imagine the culture shock one must experience moving from D.C. to Atlanta.

I don't see why fresh off the boat is offensive in any way. It's commonly used to describe anyone new to a place. Some of you need to take it easy and relax...way too thin skinned....or is that an offensive term to you as well?

I've yet to meet first generation Asians who's parents don't speak with an accent or broken English.

Sorry, hate to be a grammar nazi, but if we're going to be talking about proper English... and yes I know this is not a proper sentence

    ^^ Agreed.

Can't believe "TV and 'Murica" continue to separate races and ethnic groups like this, and everyone is laughing and saying: "Oh, lighten up"...

This is what happens to division. People will begin to believe these stereotypes and use them against each other.

Black people don't do that African thing, but uneducated folks who watch that will begin to think so.

I wished there were no LULAC or no NAACP or no KKK...

At least everyone spoke regular English without an accent on the George Lopez show, but only he was the funny one there.
That's not even cable, that's regular "rabbit-ears" local area programming via national TV.

The original title was "Far East Orlando". The producer, an Asian who based the series off his family growing up, had the title changed to "fresh off the boat".

They were new immigrants, hence the broken english and accents.
