I think his ceiling is that of a very good role player (non all-star). He just doesn't have the skills necessary to put the ball on the floor (no left hand) in the half court to really excel as a scorer, especially once defenses are able to key in on him. Historically, this is not something players tend to develop once they're in the league. Again, he's clearly good enough to play an integral role on a championship level roster, but the idea of the Spurs building around him as a centerpiece is, in my opinion, a joke.
He is a superstar different from all superstars who are so super because of great stats especially ppg. A low profiled team player ready to handle dirty and small things. NBA need more Leonard type stars in order to bring positive influences to the youth. Don't compare him to Parsons. Otherwise you are insulting Popovich. Pippen type allstar if keep coached by Popovich.
He's better than Parsons in advanced stats in last few years...both offensively and defensively...and younger.
The irony is the only way to see how good he really is, he would have to play on another team besides the Spurs.
No ceiling he can't jump through. Man, how composed he is at all times... [Donning flame suit] I'd trade Harden for him. Leonard can play the two as well as the three-- heck, he can defend PGs!
Can he be the best player on an elite team? Sure Can he be the offensive lynchpin of the team? I'm not as sure
Was injured this year for a large part and plays on the Spurs as a 4th option. Not a bad thing to be able to flip the switch at playoff time.
