I would agree that with very limited time iso is the only way to go, but in that game he stood at mid court with the ball with ~17-18 seconds left on the clock.

There are plenty of times in games where iso ball is necessary and beneficial when you have the right guy doing it.

This is either a troll poll —

    or a sting operation.

It seems like since the LOF posts have sort of dwindled over the past few weeks, some are just looking for an excuse to revive the flame wars.

Offset son begets idleness and the crappy and abrupt end to our season has been demoralizing and we just want to find some something get to whine about. For example, I have been latching on to the Anti-McHale bandwagon.

In clutch time, I think you want to reduce the number of passes to avoid costly TO's.

In my view, if a team plays too much iso/hero ball, it's either lazy/incompetent coaching, or unbalanced team configuration. I think Rockets has the right pieces, but coaching really sucks.

I like how you backed off your hatred of hero ball/ISO play when it was pointed out that Linsanity contained a lot of that. Down here we call that crawfishing.

The Rockets have work to do to become legit title contenders but bashing everything about the team but Lin is going to piss off Rockets fans.

There's a huge difference between a ballhog like Harden and attacking early/quick PnR before the defense is set.

    I wouldn't call Harden a ballhog.

Never heard anyone claim he was a ballhog until a certain group of fans with an obvious bias because a certain someone doesn't get the ball as much as that group of fans would like.

    Sad really.

“What has he done?” “Can you tell me? [Insert James Harden], what has he done? He’s got [only a beard]. Did he do any business? Did he help anybody in Houston?”

You're projecting. I never called Lin a ballhog. And the mantra of James being selfish and ISO heavy is very, very tired and has been proven wrong many times over. Again, the need to attack a player/team/coach just to justify your fanship is a little telling.

I'm flattered. And it's not a shot at Lin, just like when Harden scores well in ISO (which he does). It's a clear strength for James and the Rockets would be silly not to utilize it. I just get tired of people that feel the need to insult everything about our team because they only care about one player.

Call it whatever you like. It is what it is. I may have been too inclusive in my original post. But we are politicians here and you know what I mean.

I am not saying that Lin is of no fault. He needs to be more tough mentally, which is surprising to me considering his long journey to where he is today. He appears to be a player requiring lots of trust and a super long leash to function at a high level. His defense, 3-pt shooting and left handle require lots of work still. But it is a shame that McHale doesn't have a clue of how to maximize his player's talent. Lin could've been special. But now I think he just need another fresh start. Both milk hair and Lin are at fault.

I agree that Lin could have better stats and perhaps perform better in a system that's built around his strengths. But there's a big reason that place hasn't been Houston. Harden. He's a better version of the type of player Jeremy is. The Rockets were designed with Harden (and now Howard) in mind. Again, I'm not taking shots at Lin here. He's not a bad player. I just don't think he's the kind of key piece you build an entire team around. And we've seen the trouble he's had being a role player. So, we have a guy who can, at times, be spectacular with his play. But you never know when you're going to get that guy, or the guy who turns it over at the worst possible time. That's the ONLY reason I get frustrated with his play.

Aside from the restrictions that his contract brings I have no issue with Lin being a Rocket. I'll cheer for him just like any other player. But that also means I'll criticize him just like any other player.

I would never watch basketball again, food wouldn't taste the same, colors wouldn't be as vibrant, life would cease to exist without Lin. Oh what would we all do?
