it will be up like 1-2 mil
but we still wont have enough for melo
we are paying asik 15 mil next season but still count only 8.3 mil cap space
unless melo is willing to take a big paycut

SAS star power is comparative to Houston star power in that I see Harden and Howard in the same league as Duncan/Parker/Ginobili. Neither team has a Lebron or Durant. That is superstar power. The line I am drawing is debatable, surely.

I am still in disbelief that he is still here.

The season has ended. The cooling off period after the embarrassing exit has subsided.

Still no different feeling to this decision. What an utter joke.

Morey/Les have thrown the next few seasons with Harden and Dwight down the drain.

The problems with this team are from the head coach down. You fix that problem itself and you are more then halfway there to fixing the problems which plague this team.

What's the point of having two players who are the best in the league are the respective decisions - when you have a coach who can't get them to where they need to be.

I hate McHale. I truly do.

And Morey/Les has screwed this team over. This one move eradicates all the good Morey has done.

My concern is that they figure picking up McHale's option isn't going to cost them any more than hiring a new head coach... and, instead of having the entire offseason, training, and pre-season for this team to adjust to a new head coach... let's go with a new assistant that has head coaching "potential" if not history, let him build rapport with the team and the staff through the season... and if somehow this team fails halfway through the regular season (indeed) we get rid of McHale and promote the assistant coach to the position... without dealing with the shock of the transition, if we removed McHale one year after netting us Dwight...

Now, imagine of that assistant is Mike Brown...

It's either that, or they want to see what McHale can do with MORE talent... and one more year... Then, and only then, will the move on if he fails... The problem with that is... that's one more year of Howard's productivity and Harden's/Parson's development wasted...

Keeping McHale had nothing to do with money and nothing to with the idea they can always replace him mid season. The Rockets want this group to grow together, and believe the failings had more to do with the lack of a bench, poor execution and underwhelming assistant coach. McHale's job is not to call plays, but to lead, keep everyone on the same page and focused. Also there are not many good coaches available .... There is a reason Steve Kerr got $25,000,000 from the Warriors.

Just please fire him next season (barring a miracle Finals appearance) and don't let this become a a Kubiak situation.

Jesus christ.... I'd sure hope a head coaches job entails they call plays.

And boy did McHale screw the pooch on one of his jobs being to 'keep everyone on the same page and focused'

Why are you trying to make excuses for this organization? What's in it for you? I laughed at "underwhilming coach". Dean Cooper got canned.

I nominated you for city mayor one time. You have become one easily bribed corrupt politician.

But McHale can't lead... If he could, why the hell would Hakeem and Elie feel a need to pep-talk this team during the playoffs...?

Harden wasn't interested until game 6... he was chucking up shots in a potential elimination game in game 5...

Jlin went off in game 5... and, who was in his ear...? Dwight Howard... not McHale...

Stop fooling yourself into thinking McHale is here "to lead"... You can't be this delusional... You've probably blacked out the entire series for your sanity... The man isn't competent enough to be here to hand towels and drinks... Lead...? Please...

There are plenty of knocks you can make on McHale, but I'm not sure why people keep citing the Dream/Elie speeches as one of them. If my team is down 3-1, I want guys who have actually been there and done that to be the ones to talk to them. I'd have personally called those guys in regardless of who my HC was.

Can't believe this clueless dbag is still here. I guess this organization likes mediocrity.

Harden + Dwight = new Tmac + Yao as long as McHale is coach...calling it now.

The problem is... if you're one "claimed" positive as a coach is leadership... and you defer leadership to other people... and two of them are not even on the coaching staff, and one is a player (not in the conventional lead us to victory sense, but in the coach another player on the subject of confidence leadership).... Then... what are you offering this team...? What are you contributing...?

Lastly... that's not all he did... in game 3, in desperate need of a win, he puts in a rookie that's hardly played.... That's leadership...? He sees Harden not being interested in defense... he puts him on Lopez...? That's leadership...? His superstar player sees fit to question his calls enough, that he changes the last defensive play on the series that seals our fate... That's leadership...? Saw his post-game 6 news conference just after that game...? That's leadership...?

It's that entire blatant package of incompetence that's the problem... Come on now... What more do you people need to realize this man is incapable of leading any team to a win, let alone a championship...

What is this one incredible demonstration of exceptional leadership that he's contribute to this team that has people still defending him and STILL claiming his "strength" is in leading...? Honestly... Getting Dwight...?? ffs...
