I think you are wrong here.... Actually I think you're whole post is wrong but before you get upset at me over my opinion here is why.

The Xbox One is not inferior to the PS4 by any stretch of the imagination. Let me put it this way. Lets say we have to sports cars and car A has pretty good acceleration, some nice features, great handling, pretty fast but is slower than car B. Car B has great acceleration, some nice features, poor handling but man its a speed demon. Because one is slower than the other does not make it an inferior car. What it lacks in speed it makes up for in the corners.

What The Xbox One lacks in graphics it makes up for with its OS and Xbox Live. Still has beautiful graphics and potential has not yet reached its celling. That's why I feel like an Xbox One at $399 is a better value than a PS4. Xbox Live is not like PSN.... I have PSN and anyone that says they are equal are clearly dreaming because they are not. Microsoft is a software company who continue to ditch out interesting things for their hardware. Sony will always fall behind. Microsoft will provide good exclusives for Xbox, why would I say this? Because Microsoft can, they have the $$ to keep The Xbox flowing with interesting titles. So what does the Xbox One have over the PS4? All those things plus Kinect. People will not be paying the same for a weaker system. They will be paying the same for a more balanced system with better support and 10x more capable Microsoft.

Don't get it twist it. The Xbox One's price drop is not making the console less desirable because of the PS4's powerhouse. Its making it more valuable for the consumer to go with the console that has a better future. My Opinion....

You don't care about. Doesn't mean everyone.

Kinect is not gone. You just have the option to buy it later.....separately.

You cite "better OS" and "Xbox Live > PSN."

    Let's start with the OS.

What OS someone is comfortable with is a very subjective thing, doubly so for consoles. If you're talking PCs it's a whole separate story, because there's compatibility/supportability to consider. A console is... a console. It's an island. You don't really have a lot of those considerations. Bottom line for me is, what's easier to navigate and what has less ads. From what I've seen, PS still wins on the "less ads" point. And while what I've seen from the PS4's interface is actually less to my liking than the PS3, I still prefer it to what I've seen of the Xbox One.

As far as "Live > PSN"... I've still to this day never really heard a solid basis for this. Since they both charge to play games online now, I'm going to with the one that gives me better value for my money, which so far clearly has been PSN. Better discounts, more free games.

Just contribute some money to the tip jar and make sure to include your username... voila, Clutch will give you the ability to edit. :)

It sounds like you're using last generation's argument bud. Read a review from a gaming site, like IGN. The OS and XBox Live/PSN are pretty comparable with at least IGN choosing Sony's as the better of the two. It looks like Sony learned from that generation and applied those lessons, such as the much improved controller.

As for games, Microsoft has never come close to Sony in exclusive selection. That's my opinion though. Tell you what, go and Google "Game of the Year" and see what exclusives show up more by a large margin. Only Gears of War 2 (not sure which sequel it was?) shows up on most sites for its year. I've already done it so I'll let you take a crack at it or not. I mean just last month, most sites game of the month was the PSN exclusive "Child of Light".

Halo is a great series, but after a while the one trick has to have more. I mean at least Nintendo has tried to add more than just Mario. Sony has put out great series after great series and that was why I chose them over Microsoft. To be specific, the series I've really enjoyed are God of War, Rachet and Clank, Uncharted, Warhawk, Infamous and Resistance. For a while I thought about getting an XBox for Mass Effect, but they ultimately came around. The better graphics, confirmed 4k support, potential of Morpheus, better controller and price point were all a bonus.

Look at something objectively and you may be surprised by what you learn.

I guess they could if they want to, but Sony actually has the advantage in lower manufacturing costs (the XBO actually costs more to produce than the PS4, despite being less powerful). Sony has less reason to cut the price right now, and MS has "bigger pockets." But this could start a price war, and I'm not sure MS wants that at this time.

I believe price cuts are generally well planned out ahead of time (over the life-cycle of the platform), and I'm not sure MS is willing to deviate much from their original plans.

    Wait...

Did I just say that? ;)

Child of Light isn't a PSN exclusive. It's been released on pretty much all the platforms (PC, 360, XBO, WiiU, etc.).

On a side-note, Spencer needs to do something about this guy:

Mehdi has been saying stupid things since the reveal of the system. He's like the anti-Spencer.

You know I was only looking forward to Sony's and Ubisoft's E3 press conference this year but I am def interested to see what smoke Microsoft is going to blow at their conference.

If they actually own up to all the mistakes and missteps they've made with the Xbone so far I would respect that though. They will need to come with it at their presser, because I expect Sony to drop some Hydrogen level bombs at their conference this year.

I am really looking forward to the conference, too. As a consumer, I would eventually own all 3 consoles, provided the value proposition was there. I want a PS4 for Naughty Dog and can wait on the console until Uncharted. I bought the XBox One just this last week for the Kinect. And I don't now or think I ever will see a compelling reason to get the WiiU.

I am really dumbfounded at the fundamental errors Microsoft has made, which have harmed innovation. Imagine if the Wii launched without Wii Sports. That is basically what MS did this go round. If you bundle a Kinect, you better bundle the argument for why consumers should like the Kinect. And media box crap is not an argument for gamers. Kinect Sports should have been in that box, along with the whole scan yourself into the game tech from Kinect Sports Rivals. It was a miscalculation and misreading of the success of the Wii to think you could get away with just tossing the Kinect into the box by itself.

I don't think MS misread the market. The market wasn't clamoring for the Wii waggle stick until after Nintendo "forced" the waggle stick on Nintendo fans and provided the compelling argument for why it was a revolution in Wii Sports. Then Nintendo followed up by making creative use of the motion and pointer functionality in their IP.

And if it is true that Kinect 2.0 really is just not ready for prime time in gaming, then that is a further shame.

Also, the PS4 controller has the Move light bar for a reason. Weren't there rumors a year ago that Sony was gonna also bundle a camera but dropped the camera at the last minute so they could come in cheaper than Microsoft? Sony has made its own errors, but has had the foresight to understand that $400 < $500 dollars. If Microsoft could have come in at the same price, while ripping off PS+, then maybe the sales disparity isn't so great. But we won't know because Microsoft so screwed up the execution of this launch.

I am just hoping that, as they focus back on traditional gaming, that Microsoft can present a compelling gaming argument for the Kinect, because no third party will do so.

Microsoft has Fable & Gears of War series in addition to Halo. Hardly a one trick.

Just saying but, Fable hasn't been great since Fable 2, and the main designer is no longer with Lionhead (Fable 3 was ok). Gears is being made by an unknown developer, and 343 has yet to prove they know how to make decent Halo multiplayer.

I might make a post about conferences later (feeling lazy right now haha), but NPD numbers (for April) are coming out now:
    http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articl...rive-us-game-sales-up-17-percent-in-april-npd
No specific numbers yet, but PS4 outsold XBO again. TF #1 again too (360 version selling strongly it seems).

Edit: XBO was around 115K I think. Well, that explains why they're making a SKU without Kinect.

I think its pretty funny when people say "All the Xbox has going for it is Halo".

How many of us that have played any of the Xbox systems didn't play Halo? Hell I bought the first Xbox just to play Halo and nothing else (I had a PS2) and that hooked be into buying every console since.

If all Xbox had as an exclusive was Halo, its a pretty damn good exclusive to have! :-D

I think the Kinnect decision is a bit strange but understandable.

Last night I actually tried the Kinnect Sports Preseason demo for the first time. It was a pain to set up, and the first 15 seconds I was thinking "This is garbage!". After a minute.....it was awesome! I was shocked at how well it responded to my movements and it was just a lot of fun to play.

I'll get Kinnect Sports soon enough and see if that is all just as fun. I think had they made it cheaper...and got more people playing with the Kinnect, it might have lured more developers into making games for it.

Did you play boxing? I tried the boxing out and it was still laggy like the Kinect 1.0. Wasn't too impressed. If it was more accurate, I would've purchased the Xbone just for that game.

The only one I could try on the demo was jet-skiing.

I noticed that most people on twitch were either playing bowling, tennis or rockclimbing. I didnt see a single person doing boxing so I guess others feel the same way as you do about its accuracy.

Im shocked shooting games dont all allow you to throw grenades using kinnect.

    http://kotaku.com/halo-5-guardians-announced-for-2015-1576282395

"Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4," 343 general manager Bonnie Ross wrote on the Xbox Wire today. "That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what's now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we've invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen."P

First Fable is not in the category of the other two. Gears is decent and I'll give you that, but I don't feel like I'm missing out on it.

If it wasn't a one trick pony, why the hype for Halo 36 or whatever they're on these days? Don't get me wrong I used to love that series, but at what point is it not the top draw? Titanfall looks to be getting good reviews, but the hype for the system still seems to draw from Halo, 12 years later.

Could you imagine if Sony only had Twisted Metal or Metal Gear as it's prime sales focus for that long?

Look, I'm just calling it for what it is. I understand XBone is a cool system, it's just not the one I choose for reasons listed above.
