Zen master fooled everyone. He made everyone think he wanted Kerr, now everyone wants Kerr.

What's wrong with GSW that's scaring off Kerr & SVG? Do potential coaches fear the management team that canned Mark Jackson? They seem like the easy #1 choice to me. I get Kerr likes PJ and NY is one of the biggest gigs in sports, but it comes with baggage.

wasn't that just as GM? I think folks in the NBA are enamored with his time spent around pop and pjax.

He didn't suck, Sarver as an owner sucks. Sarver is doing all he can to nickel and dime that franchise into the ground.

    Hire Big Shot Bob.

Honestly it is ridiculous seeing guys like Kidd/Kerr/Jackson/etc get shots before Ewing who had a HOF career and like 11 or 12 years as an assistant working with JVG/SVG/Clifford/Thibs helping mold Dwight/Yao.

Adrian Griffin whom Ewing coached in Houston will prob get a shot before Ewing.

The reason is that owners and front office's want former players with executive experience. The belief is that they will have a better relationship with the front office and understand the difficulties.

What I find odd is that Steve Kerr has never demanded respect from teammates or players when he was a GM. I am not so sure that he has the leadership qualities you want.... and he isn't an X's and O's guy at this point.

Give the guy some credit, he played under arguably the three best coaches in the game in Lute Olsen, Phil Jackson and Pop. I'm not saying he's the best hire ever, but he does present a unique and diverse background. The only way that list could be better if he somehow played under Coach K as well.

Steve Kerr going to a team that likes to shoot the 3 sounds like a job that fits Steve.

They actually are. Paying that much money for a first time coach who hasn't proven anything. I don't know where Kerr is getting all of this hype from.

Why? Maybe Ewing, in all his time as an assistant, showed that he wouldn't make a good head coach. It's not like the only thing that matters is experience.
