meh, my dog chased a mountain lion up a tree, who was poised to kill a cat or dog in Chautauqua Park, Boulder, or worse, attack a hiker. true story with a Boulder Daily Camera article about the Rangers roping off 1/3 the park as they were figuring out how the get the cat out of the tree.
and yes, that does mean my dog was off a leash, but with a Green Tag, meaning she's allowed off the leash at voice command, and as long as she doesn't chase the wild life. haha Don't chase the wild life Beta
I understand where you're coming from Tal', but just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it won't . I love my dog and know he'd never bite someone, but god forbid he is provoked or threatened due to some ****head and does something...I couldn't deal with having to put him down.
Yeah, don't know how many times I hear a dog owner say this and every time I see someone walking their dog without a leash it causes a problem. Just use the damn leash. It's safer for your dog and everyone else.
Can't help but wonder if that family had a dog instead of a cat. Poor kid would've never been bitten to begin with.
1) Talk about being overly dramatic. It wasn't like the cat actually saved his life (the charging human being I'm sure would have scared away the dog just fine). 2) The lady just leaves the kid, who has a leg wound bad enough to require stitches. WTF? I've had multiple cats & multiple dogs. Cats suck. Kittens are awesome, but as the age they become less active, and are far less responsive to you.
Cheetahs do make the best pets of all the large cats -- they've been used as hunting animals for thousands of years.
Did the lady throw away a drink or something? There's something that comes into the frame right before she runs out. Looks like a liquid being tossed/sprayed.
I don't really want to add to any dog versus cat venom, but science and co-evolution stand in the way of that idea. Anyway, the worst mammal, by far, is a human that lets a dog loose like the one in the video. SMDH.
Assuming the cat owner was as irresponsible as the neighbor and let their dog hang out in the front yard unleashed.
House cats are killers. It's just that their prey isn't as impressive as people would like them to be. (And they do it for the pure fun of it) Yes, Cats are born killers. One of the more impressive predators in all of nature. Cats are just for different people though. I prefer them because they do their own thing and people who think they aren't as loyal or responsive as dogs are just didn't have the right relationship with their cat.
MY dog has been provoked and doesn't fight back. Thus the purpose of my vet comment in my previous post. Anyways, if some '****head' is purposely harassing my dog then I hope my dog does bite him. He deserves it. gotta call bull**** on that. Most people are able to walk their dogs off leash without it ever hurting anyone. GO to any dog park and see tons of dogs off the leash not attacking anyone. Not gonna stop walking my dog without a leash just because a small percentage of other dog owners misjudge their pitbulls. The whole point of taking my dog out is that he can burn energy, which he wont going half speed on some leash.
House cats are built to take down prey much smaller than themselves. They are not at all smaller versions of a big cat like a leopard. As far as dog vs. house cat, a rough dog of equal size (or even smaller depending on the breed) will kill the cat without much trouble. I've seen Patterdale Terriers kill raccoons much larger than themselves so a cat would be a joke.
