I think the argument for Fitz over Keenum is that Fitz has had more success in the NFL than Keenum has (not team record, actual passing success) and he clearly has a ton more experience in the league. I think Keenum has a legit shot to make the improvements necessary this off-season to win the job in camp, if he doesn't, that's on him. Any time someone resorts to listing team win-loss record in a discussion about an individual player, they are essentially conceding that they lost.
On Smith versus Fitz...They are both about the 20th best QB in the league. I'd give a slight edge to Smith. On Keenum...there are very few QBs that can play as poorly and still keep playing. He was just lucky Schaub had an epic nose dive in performance and TJ was the other QB.
Well Eli Manning performed a lot worse last year and he's still playing and he didn't have the excuse of it being his first ever starts with a demoralized team that had pretty much given up already by the time he was thrown out there with no O line and no running game to speak of. I say give the kid a chance before writing him off. No one would have been successful in the situation he was in last season.
people can hate on my prediction all they want, but i think fitz is going to have a good year and surprise a lot of people. i think we go 10-6. there. i said it. i think our D will be stout and our running game will return to what it has been in years past. arian's health is obviously the key, but I think we will surprise a lot of ppl. I love our D, I think our o-line will regains its swag. It was said somewhere of CF, but we have the talent of a 10-6 team, and we have a 10-6 schedule. Fitz will prove to be a decent QB. I think he can get us to the playoffs.
Well one thing is for sure, he'll be put in a good position to do well if he earns the starting job. The Texans should have the best O line they've had in years along with a defense that should cause QB's fits. Also, once Andre Johnson stops throwing his little temper tantrum and goes back to being the professional and adult that he's always been, the Texans should have plenty of offensive weapons.
I clicked division title but I changed my mind cuz of the no qb siuation wild card at most Go Texans!!
Another thing we are all forgetting about, Marciano is gone, there's a chance that we actually have competent special teams this season.
I don't make my 10-6 call lightly. I legitimately believe this team has that kind of talent Coached correctly which we all seem to think they will be 10 Wins with that schedule is not impossible If the QB can not be a turnover machine If Arian is back to 80% 10 Wins! Rocket River
new coaching staff/system, steady qb play, better kicking game, upgraded defense, healthy arian + upgraded line, bad division, possible extra wildcard added, etc... all of that has me thinking we are 8-10 wins fighting for that 7th spot if added.
That's kind of a cheap shot at Andre, isn't it? B/c he doesn't want to go through another rebuild? He didn't even demand a trade.
I can see them going anywhere from 4-12 to 5-11 or 6-10 if they get some breaks to go their way. They will be the opposite of the Cows who will have a good to very good offense and no defense while the Texans will have a good to great defense but no offense.
I don't think it was cheap. He chose to make his tantrum public so he deserves blow back for it. In the end I think he's whining because he wanted a new deal that would give him financial stability for more than just this year because he's worried about "buying into a rebuild" only to be a cap casualty after this season.
Really? No offense? Are you being intentionally pessimistic or is it that you just don't see the flaws in that statement?
