Agreed with this. He's had some bad experiences, but i think he should at least give the new coaching staff and new players a chance before coming to conclusions. If at the end of the season, he's not satisfied, bring it to the front office and see if they can find a suitable trade that works for all 3 parties.

Great, now you are telling us Jake Locker is at least as good as Colin Kaepernick.

Is that what I'm saying? No. I'm pretty sure I didn't mention either Locker or Kap.

All I'm saying is that Alex Smith is a draft bust game manager and nothing more. Fitz and Smith are very similar with the exception that Fitz was expected to pass the ball a lot more than Smith ever was and was expected to move the ball a lot more than Smith ever was. When you have to take more chances, you turn the ball over more.

Alex Smith - KC Chiefs traded a 2013 second round pick plus a 2014 mid round pick to the 49ers to get him.

Fitzpatrick - Houston Texans wanted Josh Mccown to be their QB next year, but Mccown would rather prefer to sign with TB Bucs to compete the job with Mike Glennon. Under such situation, Fittzpatrick had been signed by the Texans.

Is it a surprise that dumb franchises make dumb off-season moves? The Washington Redskins gave Albert Haynesworth 100 million dollars....

Now you are becoming funny, that dumb franchise traded for Alex Smith actually helped them into the playoff the last season.

And they got just as far as their defense could carry them, when the defense slowed down, the team came to an abrupt halt.

Seriously you need to stop :

    2013-2014 season,

the NO. 1 offense in the NFL (YPG) - Kansas City Chiefs.

Losing Jamaal Charles had more to do with it.

    Are you drunk?

    Serious question.

The number one offense last season was the Broncos when measured by yards per game with 457 and change, the Chiefs were 21st at 337 and change.....over 10 yards per game less than the league average. You'd be closer if you were trying to say points per game since that includes points the defense and special teams scored putting them up to 7th.

Well I guess I missed the word POST before season, since you are talking about how this team lost in the playoff.

This is the line Alex Smith had in that playoff game :

    30/46, 4TD, 0 INT, 378 YD.

Okay, he had a good game, no one denies that, but careers aren't based on one game.

    Fitz as a starter : 27-49-1

    Alex Smith as a starter : 49-40-1

Boom. Why didn't you say "just winz" to start with? I had a feeling that was your argument all along.

Look, there is zero argument here regarding Fitzpatrick and Smith.

    They are not even close.

Granted Alex Smith never lived up to the No. 1 pick in his early years and he is never flashy and never will be. But his performance in the last 3 seasons are nothing what Fitzpatrick ever done in his whole career so far can be compared with.

If you really believe a "walk-in" QB signing whose the second choice to Josh Mccown and also the 3rd team in his last 3 seasons bouncing from losing teams will be the savior for the Texans, well then,

    good luck.

Isn't that a large part of the argument for Fitz over Keenum?
