Yea but those are the only 4 elite quarterbacks in the NFL. Schaub is a game manager. But I would rather have Russell. Do you realize how many offensive lineman missed games in Seattle this past season...??? And Tate was his best receiving option... You guys don't give that kid enough credit. Fitzpatrick is a game manager... Are you satisfied with him...??? We can give all of these guys a "game manager" tag but some of them manage the game better than most.
Not this one in particular but as a whole you seem to be very, very, very patient with this team. Not my cup of tea. I can only get my leg pissed on for so long before I stop believing it's rain. I guess Andre just had enough as well.
I'm a pretty patient person. In 2010 I wanted Kubiak shot out of a cannon. In 2013 I wanted Schaub shot out of a cannon. I have my breaking points. Not sure what stamping my feet and having a tantrum will accomplish right now, though. Really? Hadn't noticed. Not really sure what has happened since the end of the year that has caused you to get more pissy than usual. I liked the BOB hire and I'm giving him the standard 3 years to get his s*** together. I guess you gave him, what, 3 months? So you're gonna stop watching games and following the team? K. Let the great Reeko fan holdout of 2014 begin!
Woah there Donny. I hav an issue with the owner not the coach at all. I like Bill's strategy and I trust HIM. I was glad he didn't reach for any of the QBs and decided to just rebuild this season and not reach for TB or Manziel. I just can't trust this owner any longer and until he proves me wrong I won't give HIMYM the benefit of the doubt.
Overall, this is just another bad scare on this overall unsuccessful franchise. I'm hoping "quarterback guru" coach BoB can work wonders with the QBs on the roster, but I don't blame Johnson for not being convinced. They had a chance to get one of better QBs in draft and let him slip away. I'm getting a bad feeling that coach BoB may have an outdated philosophy of having to have the "prototypical" QB who is mainly a pocket passer. That's probably the biggest reason they allowed Bridgewater/Manziel to be grabbed and not try to get them. I really wish Johnson would have complained before his last contract renewal. I agree with what Brian T. Smith said on 790 earlier in that Johnson doesn't have that much leverage at this point in his career so his complaining isn't really all that beneficial at this point for himself or the team.
Exactly, Flacco isn't a game manager, he's Rex Grossman 2.0, the only thing is that during that one playoff run, his guys happened to come down with all the "F it, I'm goin deep" hail mary passes. Last year that wasn't the case and he performed worse than Schaub and Keenum.
So you have no faith in McNair, yet you have faith in the coach he hired? I don't get it. What is the point of all this doom-saying and belly aching then? Isn't that talking out of both sides of your mouth? And what exactly is the reasoning behind wanting AJ to leave with NRG Stadium a pile of rubble in his wake? To get back at McNair for the last 10 years? OK, good luck with that. It seems you've become a fan of losing and misery more than a fan of the Texans. The moment anyone suggests things might not be as bad as they seem, you jump all over them and accuse them of being some kind of water-carrying nut-rider. Such a weird place to be in psychologically. You call me a masochist, yet you spend years here grinding your teeth and smashing the keyboard over a team you have no faith in and feel is doomed to suck forever until its good ole boys die from cancer brought on by a combination of overindulgence and laziness. Who is the masochist again?
He brought football back to Houston and he's widely considered one of the best owners in the NFL. What else would he have to do in order to earn loyalty?
McNair's biggest mistake was sticking with Kubiak too long. But that's now been corrected...... So I'm not sure what everyone here is belly-aching about.
So how many pick 6's did Flacco throw last season since he was worst than Schaub...??? You also failed to mention that losing Boldin hurt, his tight end was out for most of the year, and Ray Rice fell completely off the planet. Flacco isn't a great quarterback but here lately in the playoffs he's been stepping up. He actually outplayed Brady two years in a row and should have went to two super bowls. How many times have you seen Schaub step up in the playoffs...???
Asking if Andre will attend mandatory events is like asking if the sun will come up tomorrow. If he doesn't attend mandatory events, he won't get his money. So he's going to be there. The only question is if the Texans would cave before camp to his wishes. If O'Brien is going out of his way to leak statements to the media about how Andre is a "great fit" in his offense, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the Texans aren't planning on releasing/trading him.
It doesn't matter if Andre is happy or not. He's under contract. Not a free agent. Unless he's willing to give up money, which we both know he isn't, he's going to be ready to go come Week 1. What that tweet means, as I said above, is that O'Brien spoke to AJ in the last 24 hours and is going out of his way to leak to the media that he sees Johnson as a "great fit" in his offense. That's not something you do if you're planning on trading/cutting someone in the near future.
