In the regular season, these guys are mediocre QBs but not really game managers. They throw up and down the field and average a ton of attempts - the opposite of a game manager. But in the playoffs, they were outstanding playmakers. In their 3 combined SB runs, they averaged QB ratings of 100+ and 26 TDs vs 2 INTs. They had a whole bunch of game-winning drives with big plays.

Russell Wilson fits the mold of elite game-manager, but he's really the only one to have recent SB success.

This is really the key to it all. A great QB will get you lots of opportunities to win a SB by letting you constantly tinker with all the other parts. If you have a game-manager QB, you need lots of stuff to go right. There are tons of elite defenses that don't ever sniff a SB because of a lack of a QB.

Flacco and Manning didn't play as game managers...not at all. Both were hitting huge plays down field. Flacco has a big arm and takes shots down field.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Texans&amp;src=hash">#Texans</a> HC Bill O'Brien has spoken to disgruntled WR Andre Johnson. Respects player, thinks great fit for offense. Texans can be like Chiefs</p>&mdash; Ed Werder (@Edwerderespn) <a href="https://twitter.com/Edwerderespn/statuses/466612037489934336">May 14, 2014</a></blockquote>

In other words, he's staying. His value on the field in 2014 is better than the mid-round pick (at best) the Texans would get from dealing him, due to the contract.

BOB hasn't made a wrong move yet. I like what I see so far.

Flacco doesn't have the ability to move the ball down the field with his arm like a Brady or Manning, but he does have a great touch on his deep ball which makes the defenses have to keep a safety back.

Russell Wilson is a very smart QB. He makes plays when necessary and he keeps mistakes to a minimum. An elite game-manager, yes. He also avoids hits and their schemes suit him well. They will often call max protects when he scrambles out of the pocket, leaving him with usually only 2 routes, a check down, or a scramble. If the Blitz comes, you chuck it away and live. This is something RGIII needs to learn quickly.

game managers play it safe...they don't chunk it down the field looking to make big plays.

I can't imagine how you watched Flacco play that year in the playoffs and even remotely suggest he was a game manager for them at that point. The Ravens played their best football with him making big plays repeatedly.

    Offensive line wasn't blocking well.
    Kicker wasn't making FGs.
Defense generated over a turnover less per game over turnover rate from 2011 and 2012.
Defense wasn't getting sacks like they were in 2011 and 2012.

Schaub's fall from being about the tenth best QB to being among the worst was probably the biggest problem, but even I have a hard time blaming the QB production for more than about 3-4 wins.

At least 4 wins bc of QB play. 2 wins from Bullock. And 2 wins bc of coaches.

We should have been 10-6 last season.

I figured BOB suggesting the Texans can replicate the Chiefs turnaround would cause you to have an aneurysm. Not to mention the fact that this whole thing exploding in the Texans faces doesn't look (and never looked) likely. I'm sure the thought of something good happening has totally ruined your day. I'm sorry.

The contract stuff I agree with. It's tough. But not impossible to fathom. I just don't think the Tweet means anything at all. O'Brien is doing his job. And of course he'll say he thinks we can have a Chiefs-like turnaround.

That doesn't mean Andre Johnson is any happier with the situation. Regardless of what happens that Tweet holds no weight.

What? How did you get that? Unless Andre says he's committed to the texans and will attend mandatory events then nothing is settled.

I don't understand Andre, why would he possibly not want to catch balls from such incredible QBs as Case the great Keenum and Ryan Fitzpatrick? Is he not happy with sure fire QB pick Tom Savage? Why would any franchise receiver be disgruntled?

I hope Andre leaves somewhere good and wins a superbowl. We don't deserve him here. This franchise is trash and the city is unappreciative of the greatest professional athlete it has had since Hakeem Olajuwon.

What did Bob McNair do to get this much loyalty from you? Did he donate to a charity you run? Did he rescue your dog? Are you just a masochist?

AJ is coming to the reality that he is most likely going to spend his entire career with a bad organization, that has overall be bad. I am sure he is looking at his talent, and then realizing that he has no playoff or Super Bowl glory... and he is resentful.... and I do not blame him.
