If two guys are kissing in front of you, are you weirded out?

As so often, I agree 100 %.

 

I don't understand PDA in general.

 

I don't know that it weirds me out but it seems odd to me because I'm wired differently. I guess I'd compare it to hearing someone speak a language I don't know. It's unfamiliar and strange to me.

I make ONE exception......

Watching BigTexxx and SamFisher kiss would be VERY disturbing.... mostly because the universe would rip at it's seem and everything that ever has been and will be would be destroyed in an instant.

 

I go back and forth on what I think when people use the "disgusting" term. I can sort of rationalize why someone might think it's disgusting, and here's why.

I think there are plenty of people who would be disgusting by seeing two really ugly people kiss. Why? Because they are thinking something like "ugh, I would never kiss her!" or some variation of that thought. I think that may be part of why someone finds it "disgusting" to see two guys kiss. As a guy, I would never kiss another guy like that. The idea of ME kissing another guy is disgusting to me. (like a passionate kiss, not just kissing your dad or something) I think that may be what goes through people's heads when they think about it.

I dunno.

 

just so you know, SamFisher has in fact indicated a lingering curiosity that I've long found uncomfortable. I'll leave it at that.

back on topic -- I don't believe I saw a single other draft pick mug down with their girlfriend like that. Michael Sam and his manpanion were the only two I saw with the passionate embrace and lengthy kiss. So it looked like he was clearly trying to make a show of it.

 

You don't believe you saw it this year and you have no idea whether you've seen it before. You'd have to look it up.

Did Brady Quinn kiss that cute blonde girl he was with at the draft that year? Did Tom Savage kiss his girlfriend? Has Tom Brady kissed Giselle on tv before? Have any golfers kissed their wives after winning a tournament? Did Aaron Murray's girlfriend kiss him on tv? Was anyone kissing in the homes of draftees where they showed their little draft parties?

By the way, that's just weird about Sam. LOL

 

The way I see it, other people's sex lives are none of my business. So I am not one to judge.

But similarly, I don't need that thrown in my face. If it happens, I look away, just because I I believe people should be allowed to make their own decisions, doesn't mean I have to enjoy or stare at them. You do what you do, whatever floats your boat. That's your business.

You guys making out is none of my business either so I'm not going to watch. Don't be offended when I look away. Leave me alone like I'm leaving you alone.

I don't know if the OP is actually being intolerant. All of us react differently depending on the stimulus. Some of us do not like any form of PSA regardless of gender or sexual preference.

Most people can not accept things they see as unnatural. Considering that the majority of people living in this world are heterosexual, seeing a homosexual act is unnatural and is supposed to illicit a cringeworthy reaction. With time and desensitization, the shock factor wont be as bad.

There are several important questions however that need to be answered:
1. I think the uproar of the entire situation is primarily directed at ESPN...why are the television crew set up at the house of a 7th round draft pick in the first place???

2. Would Michael Sam be drafted if he decided to remain quiet???

3. Why did a Dolphins player get fined and suspended from team activities??

Michael Sam sound the LBGT fog horn with his charade on draft night, EVERYTHING he did was of the look at me variety... if I were St Louis I'd regret picking him because despite his own comments, football didn't look front and center.

Instead "gay" was front and center.

 

Or that I'm comfortable with my sexuality and am not afraid to show affection to my friends.
