Obviously from the little teaser they posted, you get a sense of what they're going for, which is that fusion. It's got the same fins and sleek outline of the Burton movies, with the same ruggednss and sheer size of the Nolan movies. Or at least the back half of it does. Very similar to the Arkham series.
Every Update seems to just be all over the road. It will take a great effort for this not to suck MOS was a big cup of 'meh' This seems like it will be worse Rocket River
I'm not saying the movie will be good, but y'all are inferring quite a bit of information from a single picture that doesn't give away much.
I agree. I don't really seem to understand why people are writing this movie off before it has even begun filming.
Because the last one was average, Nolan left, the director is mediocre and comes off as the Michael Bay of comic book movies, they are fast tracking an Avengers-type lineup instead of slow playing it, they did a Superman and instead of building the character he now has to share screen time with other heroes, and this one overall is sounding cheesy as hell. Doesn't seem that hard to understand.
Nolan leaving means nothing, he was hardly involved in MoS. I'd agree that MoS wasn't amazing, but it was better than a lot of other superhero movies I've been seeing lately (imo better than Spidey 2, Thor 2, Iron Man3, doesnt come close to Cap2 though). And I hate the whole "They're not building it up like the Avengers" argument. The original X-men movies worked without having each character built up in their own movies, Ocean's Eleven worked without having each character in their own movie. Movies with large ensemble casts can indeed work, just as much as they can fail. It's up to the movie, which we haven't seen, to continue to flesh out Supes, and introduce (an already known) Batman. Zack Snyder certainly has a very distinct style and leaves his mark on his movies, but I'd say only the movies that he both directs and writes are bad. Hated 300, hated Sucker Punch. Man of Steel wasn't bad, Dawn of the Dead was good, and Watchmen happens to be one of my favorite superhero movies. The saving grace in this is the fact that Chris Terrio jumped on to write the movie (same guy who wrote Argo), rather than Snyder. And please, enlighten us in what you know that we don't about the movie, since you're already saying everything about the movie is cheesy as hell. Exactly what is? All we know is the characters that will be in the films, which are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Lex Luthor, all iconic characters.
She's not a badass like Black Widow or Hawkeye I guess who can take on giant aliens with a pistol and arrows.
I think she's cheesy too. A lasso that makes people tell the truth and an invisible jet...and she's Amazonian? It just feels like they were trying too hard to come up with something interesting. I'm not a huge Black Widow fan (and definitely not a fan of Scarlett in the movies), but I have always been partial to Hawkeye. Him and Green Arrow are the same dude; trick arrows and what not. I find that a lot more plausible/interesting than a truth lasso. That's just me though. No disrespect intended towards anyone who is a WW/DC fan.
Wonder Woman wouldn't be hard to make into a good character. Make it so that Wonder Woman's lasso doesn't make people tell the truth and that she doesn't have an invisible jet. Worked in the Justice League cartoon; it can work in a movie. She's just a very strong Amazonian who can fly. That is more than enough to be a superhero, and since Superman already flies it's not like it's too different from what they already have going. With that said, MoS sucked ass and I'm not looking forward to the Batman/Superman/Snyder movie. But I do think Wonder Woman could easily work as an ensemble character or even a stand-alone.
To each their own, but the truth lasso (while I agree is campy) is only a small part of her character. Hell, in Flashpoint Paradox movie, that actually worked (she killed others with it). But Wonder Woman has the Greek pantheon background, a superpowered woman (comparable to the awesome Faora in MoS), has her sword and shield. This gif pretty much shows how much of a badass Wonder Woman is (to me)
The movie premise could work, but they should intro the new batman in his own movie first, give superman at least one more solo movie, and then try putting them together, much like the avenger's did. Wonder Woman could be as cheesy or as bad ass as the director and writer's imagination allows. See Wonder Woman Vol 1: Blood for a more violent, badass version of the character.
The Casting of Wonder Woman has her more fragile than one would expect that is a bit off putting . . .. not the 6ft AMAZON but some average looking model chick Rocket River
Its here! Batman looks badass as does the Batmobile. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en data-scribe-reduced-action-queue="><p>I shot this with my <a href="https://twitter.com/leica_camera">@Leica_Camera</a> M Monochrom. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Batman&src=hash">#Batman</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Batmobile&src=hash">#Batmobile</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Gotham&src=hash">#Gotham</a> <a href="http://t.co/WPHKLxgBLM">http://t.co/WPHKLxgBLM</a> <a href="http://t.co/p5DEf6fLzJ">pic.twitter.com/p5DEf6fLzJ</a></p>— ZackSnyder (@ZackSnyder) <a href="https://twitter.com/ZackSnyder/statuses/466249462348644352">May 13, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
