this is the first step to recruiting lebron. Another tactical masterstroke Morey thought of while playing 2k14, only to realize lebron left brown for rileys sexy slicked back hair. Oh well, at least we still have McHale.

I was afraid that the Rockets would go after him. They need a better assistant than Brown. We need Elie for Harden. He will go after James when he slips up.

    No thanks.

For some reason it doesn't seem like he gets any respect from players (and definitely not from fans because we all know he basically rode lebron to a COY and never really had success otherwise). There have to be better alternatives to mr potato head.

This dude wasted Lebron's most athletic years. He and McHale need to be banned from coaching altogether.

#1 Many GM's have a great deal of say over the assistant coaches. Further, Finch was the one Morey insisted on bringing, the others were interviewed by McHale and he had a great deal of say in their selection.
#2 Morey has never said or even hinted that Lin was Alexander's decision.
#3 Cooper was already unpopular with the players, and was in charge of the defense after Sampson left, and there were clear errors made defensively.

If you want to criticize Morey or McHale or anyone else, that is fine, but accurate.

Sorry bud, wasn't trying to give you a hard time. :)
I think I was trying to say it seems to me Brown didn't do that good of a job as the coach if he can't get Luol, who is known to play good defense with the Bulls, to play good defense in the Cavs team.

I don't think I said it wasn't viable, it just isn't as effective as it was 7-8 years ago. Other systems have passed it by, and is a common thread with Mike Brown, he doesn't adjust, at all... Literally.

Some components of his style is that it relies on the post defenders being able to switch under any circumstances and bigs must show on the PNR. What it does is limit penetration but often leaves teams open for jumpers. Teams have had luck running on Brown to defeat his system. Further teams can hit a lot of 3's because the emphasis is preventing post scoring and dribble penetration... Part of the problem? The league has become more 3 happy, teams run more and good wing based team can score against it.

    Yeah great.

We already have on of the 3 worst coaches in the league in McHale and now add another absolute garbage bottom tier coach on par with McHale as the laughing stocks amongst coaches.

Might as well tank for the number 1 pick with such a rubbish coaching staff.

They need to improve their defense and I think that this would be a step in the right direction. I think most of all they need to become more professional and organised in the way that they play. Portland was the more composed team in the first round and that can't happen.

    3) defense sucked with Sampson too.

People need to stop saying Sampson was key. We still sucked on D; game winners, Harden blown coverage. All with Sampson on board.

The defense was certainly better under Sampson, but that is irrelevant anyway. Who said anything about Sampson being the key? The Rockets fired the assistant in charge of defense...

Also don't kid yourself .... Harden wasn't the only one blowing coverage, Lin and Parsons were terrible as well.
