I am sure this has nothing to do with getting an all-star good defensive player named Luol Deng.

Van Gundy would not accept to assist McHale. Neither others experienced coaches.
I mean, Gentry accepts to assist Doc Rivers, not McHale.

Y'all are grown ass men, or at least purport to be. You have the right to whine endlessly if you want to, and I have the right to comment on it. If you want to continue parsing and excluding portions of my post to have an excuse to go back and forth with a clueless "newbie," have at it. I'm done with this exchange.

You know, I think D'antoni would be worth money just drawing up plays for the last 10 seconds on offense.

I run into Morey @ IAH and now I'm a waitress there. LOL. The obsession is flattering, frankly. Appreciate the support, but these guys don't bother me. ;)

I'm confused, so is it ok to call you complaining about people complaining, whining? When you call someone a name "whiner" you can't get upset when they troll you with "newbie", in fact you should probably expect it, lol.

Both Mike Brown and Mike D'Antoni were fired for a reason.

On paper, they might fit the profile of what we're looking for, but reputation-wise, what does it do for our players? They couldn't do the job on their last teams--probably too one-dimensional, strategies outdated already, and probably need their own assistants

Imagine that, they will need to bring their own assistant/s.

I've been here less than a year, so I am a newbie, comparatively. I don't care about somebody calling me that.

I'm all for it! Something needs to be done about the defense. I'm still confused why our head coach can't teach defense though. Thanks for info. cyberx!!

Deng only played half of the season with the Cavs, and his defense was pretty bad.

Deng said himself he was bad defensively because it was a new team and he wasn't used to playing defense on that team. He said he struggled.

And he did struggle evidenced by his 110 defensive rating when the previous season it was 102 and his career average is 104. (lower numbers are better).

The owner has who he wants. Shame your competence can't arrive to eliminate the incompetence within.

And also, if you look at the stats, the Cavs were BETTER on defense BEFORE Deng joined the team.

They were 15th in defensive rtg before he got there, and were 19th after he got there.

    Brown's problem is not defense...

It's everything else. If Pop thought he was good enough to be a assistant for him than he's good enough for Mchale.

The main problem with Brown's teams seem to be lockerroom issues and it seems he always loses control of the team. I doubt anyone on the Spurs coaching staff is 'dumb' when it comes to this game.
