Yeah, it came out last Tuesday. It looks amazing and is a really immersive experience. Plus, I now know a few people who play for the Astros. It's easier to play with them on The Show than it is to find CSN.

I almost bought this the other day when I was trading in games taking advantage of the GS 50% trade in thing. Preordered Watch Dogs, Batman, and got an additional PS4 controller.

I'm going to get The Show but they always have a quick price drop on these sports games so I'm gonna wait a bit before I purchase. I'm not a big enough of a baseball fan to buy day one anyway but the game is very pleasing to the eye where I considered it.

Yeah, I got it as a placeholder before the new Batman and FIFA games come out. That said, I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought it would and the quick pitch count option really helps the game breeze by. Instead of starting each at bat 0-0, all batters enter into a situational count like 2-1, 3-2, 0-2, etc and you go from there.

Has anyone tried Child of Light? It's getting really good reviews. I'll probably download it when I get back from this trip I'm on.

Yes finally! Was hoping for a late June or early July release but that'll work. Got plenty of other games to keep me occupied until then though

I like that it's not simple turn based gameplay. You have to be engaged in each and every battle or you will die. Can't just mash X and expect to win. Also like they you can interrupt the enemy's actions before they attack. It reminds me of Grandia II in that regard

Yeah I'm annoyed at the date, not nearly as much as the initial rumors of late September (that's Destiny time). I'll definitely be buying it none the less, still wish it was sooner.

Yeah, I definitely like that. It's a very sneaky level of complexity which again surprises me that she likes it. Very fun game.

Tried NBA 2K14 again, via GameStop 'renting' , after selling it the first time due to the horrendous online lag. It is still the same, crappy experience that I've experienced with 2K games for the past 6 or so years. When will they ever learn, and when will consumers speak with their pockets about this?

It's a fun game that I wish I could keep, but because I solely play online head to head matches, the lag ruins the experience. Having your buttons register a half second or even a second late is awful.

It may be wishful thinking, but hopefully this 2K15 will be next gen only. They may wait one more year due to the massive install bases on 360/PS3. Hopefully with 2 less platforms to code for they can fix issues like this.

I doubt 2k15 will be next gen only due to like you said the install base. They were still releasing sports games for the PS2 and Xbox maybe 3-4 years into when the PS3 and 360 were out.

I do hope they address the problems in 2k15 though. Like the poster above said the online was lag heavy and the all around game was very buggy. If they fixed all the bugs and just added a freaking season mode I'd probably still get it though.

I don't see how making it next gen only will solve their problems. They apparently made the next gen versions 'from the ground up' (which is complete BS). 2K simply doesn't care, nor do they really acknowledge that it is even an issue in the first place. They deserve to be in the conversation for worst video game company alongside EA.

I'm sure she's drawn to the female heroine as well. I notice when I play games with girls or current gf that they are drawn more to a game with strong female characters and it makes them enjoy the game more

I'm not here to try to defend them too much, but I don't think you quite understand the difficulties that lie in making a game on a 1 year rotation. Also the next gen versions ARE completely different code bases.

The reason why it would help is they're not having to make 4 different versions of network code.

I'm sure that's part of it (I discussed that with her), it definitely doesn't hurt. I mean video games are there to escape, if you can't picture yourself in that position it definitely takes some fun out.

I'm sure it's difficult, but with the amount of money they make, I won't feel sympathy for them and take it easy on them for their shortcomings - especially for something they continue to ignore for the past 6+ years. I know the next gen versions are different code bases, however, they weren't built from the ground up like they claimed - meaning, they started from scratch.

And besides, 2K isn't the only game studio who makes games on a 1 year rotation. Doesn't give them a valid excuse IMHO.

    NBA 2K14 was micro-transaction palooza.

Actually, that's exactly what a different code base means. That's also why the features are so different between the versions. It was built from the ground up differently. As for the actual net code I can't speak on it. I guess their engineers aren't very good?

Yeah I'm downloading Transistor now. Looking forward to it

Was enjoying Child of Light on my day off but got this weird error and it booted me out of the game.

Playstation network has been acting weird the past couple of days for me actually

My wife is pretty far in Child of Light now. I want to say she's level 30+ and she didn't have any issues last night (that was last night though of course).

I'm hoping I get a free copy of Child of Light for Vita via cross buy. I might have to play it a bit, I've watched her quite a bit (and jumped in with Igniculus a few times). Very pretty/fun.
